Who is the 2010 Sports Illustrated Cover Girl? A Look at the Odds (and Pics)
This Tuesday, the cover girl for the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue will be announced. Speculation is running rampant about who it will be.
There are a handful of models who have been around long enough and have the kind of reputation it takes to pull off the cover, but we'll be diving into all 18 models that will appear in this year's issue and figuring out just what exactly are the odds of them landing the cover.
I may be right, I may be wrong, but damn if it won't be a fun ride all the way through.
Sonia Dara
This will be Sonia Dara's first Swimsuit Issue, and first anything big from what I can tell. She's basically a nobody in the modeling world and I couldn't even find a good picture of her in a swimsuit. I'm sure that will change come Feb. 9, but for now, she's not making the cover.
Cover Odds - 250:1
Christine Teigen
Also her first Swimsuit Issue for Sports Illustrated, Christine is no stranger to being in a swimsuit, snagging the cover of Maxim's 2007 Calendar.
She's also no stranger to the spotlight as she's been dating crooner John Legend since 2007. But contrary to what his lyrics tell you, Christine is no ordinary person.
Cover Odds - 100:1
Zoe Duchesne
Zoe Duchesne is the greatest thing to come out of Canada since Celine Dion (what? I'm a fan of her music). This supermodel has been on plenty of international covers, but this will mark her introduction to America. Keep an eye on her, she'll grace a cover in the future, just not this cover.
Cover Odds - 75:1
Julie Ordon
Julie Ordon is a remarkable addition to the Swimsuit Issue. I'm not saying that because of how she looks, she's obviously hot enough to warrant her spot, but she just had her first child six months ago and she already looks good to go.
Cover Odds - 60:1
Genevieve Morton
This South African model probably has a killer accent to go along with that body. She got her first taste of the Sports Illustrated in 2008, but skipped last year. Thankfully for us, she won't be doing the same thing this year. Although I doubt we'll see her on the cover.
Cover Odds - 50:1
Cintia Dicker
One thing you don't see a lot of in modeling is red hair and a face full of freckles. I guess that's one reason Cintia Dicker stands out (other than her name, which I'll refrain from making 7th grade jokes about).
Last year was her rookie year in the publication and she's back once more to heat up the pages.
Cover Odds - 48:1
Damaris Lewis
Damaris Lewis may look like an exotic beauty, but she actually hails from Brooklyn, NY. Last year was her first year in Sports Illustrated, but she has quickly become a favorite and was invited back for another year to get us all worked up again.
Cover Odds - 45:1
Hilary Rhoda
Does Hilary Rhoda look familiar to you? I mean more than in a "I saw her in Sports Illustrated last year" kind of way. That's because this sexy model has been linked to none other than Mark Sanchez. Yes, the Sanchize.
That sort of thing will help bring your profile up (just ask Brooklyn Decker), but I still think Hilary has a ways to go before she can grab that cover spot.
Cover Odds - 40:1
Jessica Gomes
This Australian hottie is riding a two-year streak of being in the Swimsuit Issue, including on year that I recall fondly in which she was one of the body paint ladies. Coming up on her third year with Sports Illustrated, she's definitely starting to become a veteran, but does that translate into a cover?
Cover Odds - 35:1
Julie Henderson
Coming into her fourth year in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Julie Henderson must really have enjoyed stripping down and having some fun in the sun at whatever tropical location they were shooting at.
Why? Because rumor has it that she's been dating Aaron Rodgers and I'm assuming those trips up to Green Bay to see him haven't been the warmest ever.
Cover Odds - 25:1
Esti Ginzburg
Not even 20-years-old, Esti Ginzburg is rising quickly in the modeling world. She had her first year with Sports Illustrated in last year's issue, but she is so smoking hot that I can't imagine that it will be too long before she's one of the all-time favorites.
Cover Odds - 25:1
Irina Shayk
Was there any doubt that Irina was Russian? If not, they went ahead and gave her one of those hats to drive the point home. Still, the hat is really the last thing I'm looking at here. This will be Irina's fourth year in the Swimsuit Issue and she's got the look to someday pull off the cover beautifully.
Cover Odds - 20:1
Anne V.
Anne V. is so hot that she doesn't require a last name. Okay, she has a last name, it's Vyalitsyna, which must have been so impossible to pronounce that she just shortened it to V. Good call.
Her name could be Seymore Butts and I wouldn't care. Just look at her. It's her fourth year, could this be the year she gets a cover?
Cover Odds - 15:1
Daniella Sarahyba
Sexy Brazilian Daniella Sarahyba has been in every Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue since 2005. That means this will be her sixth year. Will this be the year they reward her with the cover? It's possible, she is muy caliente!
Cover Odds - 12:1
Jessica White
Jessica White has been around Sports Illustrated for a while. The first African-American woman to be in the magazine six times will now be the first with seven under her belt.
Seven years is a long time to not get your own cover. If she was like her boyfriend, Terrell Owens, she would have forced a trade a long time ago.
Cover Odds - 10:1
Dominique Piek
Dominique Piek has not yet appeared in the American version of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, but she has in foreign versions and word has it that she's getting a lot of cover heat recently.
This South American beauty will make her debut this year and it would be remarkable if she could snag the cover on her very first try. I wouldn't put it past her.
Cover Odds - 8:1
Bar Refaeli
Last year's cover model, the incomparable Bar Refaeli would be the first back to back cover model since Tyra Banks did it in 1996 and 1997. But if there was ever someone fine enough to pull that off, it would be Bar.
Honestly, I'm just happy if she's in the magazine. The more we can get of her the better our lives will be.
Cover Odds - 4:1
Brooklyn Decker
The overwhelming favorite coming into the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model reveal is Brooklyn Decker. And as well she should be. This is her fifth year, but she's far more than just a swimsuit model.
Decker is also married to tennis star Andy Roddick and, from what I've heard, is one of the most down to earth and friendly models there are. She also seems to have some of the best sports knowledge of any hot girl you'll ever meet. Basically, she's your dream girl. Damn you Andy Roddick, you lucky bastard.
Cover Odds - 2:1
