2010 NFL Mock Draft: Epsilon Version (7 ROUNDS!)

As promised, here is my first installement of my 7 round mock. Although it is my fifth installment overall (Epsilon is the fifth letter of the Greek Alphabet), it's the first time I've included all 7 rounds. I do this twice a year: once around the Super Bowl (a la now), and in my final installement (probably once the #1 overall pick signs his contract).
A couple of layout notes:
-First-Second round: 8 picks per slide
-Third-Fifth round: 16 picks per slide
-Sixth-Seventh round: 32 picks per slide (the whole round)
Also, starting round 3, I won't be putting explanations on every pick. There'll still be some, but I'm not going to breakdown all 223 picks. Yet.
Where do I think Colt McCoy will go? Read on to find out! All feedback is welcomed.
Round 1: Picks 1-8
1.1 St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Sam Bradford over Jimmy Clausen? Yes. I think I've been pretty clear in the past that I think Clausen is the best QB in this class. However, the Rams are losing money. Living in Missouri, I know that there are an unbelieveable amount of Sooner fans here. So, why not draft the "hometown hero"? I personally would touch Bradford in the first 20 picks, but I'm not the Rams owner.
1.2 Detroit Lions - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
When you think about it, there isn't a whole lot of difference between Gerald McCoy and Ndamukong Suh other than press coverage. They're both very versatile and ultra-athletic. The only fundamental difference is Suh would make a better 43 nose, while McCoy would be more of a 43 under tackle. Detroit already has a young 43 nose they really like in Sammie Lee Hill. For that reason, I think this pick is McCoy. The pick here really should be Russell Okung, but the Lions for some reason believe he's a Pro Bowler...
1.3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
There have been talks that the Bucs may trade up to the #1 spot to secure Suh. That's how smitten they are with him. If they stay put, and he makes it to 3, then Goodell may not have to leave the podium between the Lions and Bucs picks.
1.4 Washington Redskins - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
A lot of people don't like Clausen, citing that they believe that he's arrongant and a diva. I think they've misconstrued him. And even if he is, Shanahan drafted a diva in Denver (Cutler), and he didn't do too badly. It's important to note that if St. Louis takes Clausen, and Washington (the team that employs Dr. James Andrews, who did Bradford's surgery) doesn't think he checks out enough to take him here, you could see Bradford falling far. However, regardless of his shoulder, I think if Clausen is gone, this pick is Okung, and they take a QB later (Zac Robinson round 2 or Jevan Snead round 3)
1.5 Kansas City Chiefs - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.
This pick is pretty cut-and-dried. If the Chiefs stand pat here, and Okung is available, he HAS to be the pick. If Okung is gone, this pick HAS to be Eric Berry.
However, I could see a team trading up here for Bradford/Clausen if one of them were to fall. An ideal deal would be a 3-way that sends this pick to Carolina (for said QB), Julius Peppers and Carolina's third round pick to New England, and the 3 NE second rounders and Carolina's second rounder to Kansas City. In this deal, Julius Peppers' value would calculate as about the #23 overall pick, which would make the deal fit, I believe. Just a suggestion. Get to it, Pioli!
1.6 Seattle Seahawks - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
I still don't see, with the players who have been taken, how this pick can't be Eric Berry. I've heard Bruce Campbell, but I think his injury history would scare a wise team from taking him this high. Who else could this pick be? Derrick Morgan? I thought they spent a first rounder on a DE a couple years ago. Plus, they have Kearney. Joe Haden? Why pass on Berry for a lesser secondary prospect (no disrespect, Joe)? Dez Bryant? Not with Housh's contract. The only other player I could MAYBE see here is Bryan Bulaga, but that would be a big reach. All in all, Berry makes the most sense.
1.7 Cleveland Browns - Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama
This pick depends heavily on how Eric Mangenious evaluates Derrick Morgan. If he thinks Morgan can be a 34 rush linebacker (a la Vernon Gholston), then Morgan is the pick. If not, then the choices are McClain and Haden. I've had Haden here a lot recently, but McClain is gaining momentum right now. He doesn't have elite athleticism, but he's got amazing instincts and he could be that Ray Lewis-type team leader. Cleveland could use a Ray Lewis, don't you think? If Bradford/Clausen falls to 5, then Cleveland could be a candidate to leap frog Seattle for one of them.
1.8 Oakland Raiders - Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida
This is anticipating he'll star at the Combine. If he, at 6'6 290, runs a sub-4.7 40, he's the pick here. No other explanation, because Al Davis looks for nothing else.
Round 1: Picks 9-16
1.9 Buffalo Bills - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
As I said earlier, I would be scared to take Campbell if I were a competent owner because of his injury history. However, Ralph Wilson is no longer a competent owner. So I think he'd go for the flash of Campbell's athleticism and make him the pick. This is a spot a team like Atlanta could trade up for Derrick Morgan, as Ralph Wilson hates the idea of spending top 10 money on high-paying positions, opting to wait until later rounds (see Edwards, Trent). However, if Wilson becomes smitten with Bradford/Clausen, Buffalo is another candidate to move into that #5 spot for a QB if one of them fall that far.
1.10 Jacksonville Jaguars - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma St.
Walter Cherepinsky of Walterfootball.com said it best: "Jacksonville MUST come out of this draft with Tim Tebow." Whether it's taking him here (which is very unlikely based on his Senior Bowl) or trading into the second round for him (which is more likely), the Jaguars can't leave this draft without the Jacksonville native. He would do too much for the Jaguars' value. So, if you're thinking of trading into the second round to get him, why not give him a dynamic weapon to work with? Mike Sims-Walker is a good #2, but Holt isn't starting material and Jarrett Dillard/Mike Thomas are slot guys. Bryant would give Tebow a #1 WR.
1.11 Denver Broncos (from Chicago) - Joe Haden, CB, Florida
Champ Bailey is coming off a Pro Bowl season (huh?), but he'll be 32 at the start of the 2010 season. It's time to think about an heir/opposite starter (Alphonso Smith? Better as a nickel corner. Andre' Goodman? Please.). Denver is another candidate to move up to 5, although, seeing as the Chiefs and Broncos are enemies, that's unlikely.
1.12 Miami Dolphins - Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Let me have it, Miami fans. WR is a huge need for the Dolphins. Brian Hartline and Davone Bess have promise, but Bess is best in the slot, and Hartline is a possession guy. Golden Tate is a raw route runner, but he's also 5'11, 190, and has 4.4 speed. He's essentially Ted Ginn with Cris Carter-like hands. With Tate on the team, Ginn could focus on being a kick returner, which he actually excels at. Henne's arm deserves someone who can go get it and hold on to it. Ginn can go get it, but Tate can get it and hold on.
1.13 San Francisco - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
A bookend tackle for Joe Staley. With him, the 49ers wouldn't have to worry about OT for 10 years, barring an injury.
1.14 Seattle Seahawks (from Denver) - Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
An heir to Walter Jones. Which is ironic, because Davis reminds me a lot of Jones: a mauler in the run game, and good but not great in pass protection.
1.15 New York Giants - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
How ecstatic would Giant fans be if Morgan is sitting for them here? It's definitely a possibility, especially with so many idiots in the draft world. Morgan would allow the Giants to trade the nuisance Osi.
1.16 Tennessee Titans - Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
An heir for fellow Volunteer alum Albert Haynesworth. He would bring that power back to the middle they lost with Haynesworth, and at a smaller price.
Round 1: Picks 17-24
1.17 San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina) - Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise St.
Wilson absolutely destroyed everyone at the Senior Bowl last week. He's flying up draft boards right now. I have him as my #2 corner behind Haden. Watching him, all I could think was Asante Samuel. Bet the Niners wish they got Samuel instead of Nate Clements. Kyle Wilson could start immediately opposite Clements, which will be vacant when (not if) Dre' Bly signs with another team. Even if he stays, at 33, he's not starting material.
1.18 Pittsburgh Steelers - Earl Thomas, S, Texas
Steelers fans rejoice! A starter opposite Polamalu to unseat the terrible twosome Tyrone Carter and Ryan Clark.
1.19 Atlanta Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri
A starter to replace Mike Peterson, who has shown signs of age. Weatherspoon will also bring his leadership and amazing attitude to the Falcons' D. Wherever he goes, he'll be a fan favorite.
1.20 Houston Texans - Brian Price, DT, UCLA
Amobi Okoye hasn't exactly been a thriving success. On the other hand, that could be because his partner is Frank Okam, who's idea of hard work is trying to find the pudding at the buffet. Price could be the other starter, or a motivator for Okoye. Or both. Both would probably be best.
1.21 Cincinnati Bengals - Brandon LaFell, WR, LSU
Carson Palmer missed Housh this year. Laverneus Coles was a major bust of a signing, while Andre Caldwell was incredibly inconsistent and should probably be a #3 WR. LaFell could be that red-zone, possession receiver that guys like Palmer need to compliment deep threats like Chad Ochocinco.
1.22 New England Patriots - C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
The rich get richer. The Patriots get the most dynamic offensive player in the draft at #22. Hey, just like last year! (Harvin, in case you didn't catch that)
1.23 Green Bay Packers - Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma St.
Was my #2 corner before the Senior Bowl, but Cox was outdone by Kyle Wilson. Still, he's a tremendous CB prospect, and Green Bay can't rely on Al Harris (old) and Tramon Williams (sucks) opposite Charles Woodson.
1.24 Philadelphia Eagles - Mike Iupati, G, Idaho
Iupati really showed up small in the Senior Bowl. Still, the Eagles need a G terribly, and they like big lineman (Iupati is 325).
Round 1: Picks 25-32
1.25 Baltimore Ravens - Damian Williams, WR, USC
This pick should've been a WR last year, but I understand not taking one when a top-10 prospect (Oher) falls to 23. Still, Mason is close to retirement, and there's no other receivers for Flacco that are at least average. This pick becomes a corner if they get either Boldin or Marshall and still have this pick.
1.26 Arizona Cardinals - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Mike Gandy is a free agent, and probably won't be brought back. Even if he stays, he's not really starting material and needs to be replaced. Williams would make a good bookend for former top 5 pick Levi Brown.
1.27 Dallas Cowboys - Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama
Like Philadelphia, Dallas loves the big boys, and it doesn't get bigger in this draft than Terrence Cody. Jay Ratliff has played well, but he's not a true nose tackle. With 3 potential FA defensive ends leaving (including Marcus Spears), the Cowboys could take Cody here and move Ratliff to end. They may do that anyway, as Igor Olshansky has been a bust signing.
1.28 San Diego Chargers - Toby Gerhard, RB, Stanford
San Diego needs to get over LaDainian Tomlinson. Darren Sproles is a good speed back, but he needs to be complimented with a between-the-tackles guy. Gerhart is the best RB who has just that sort of style.
1.29 New York Jets - Nate Allen, S, USF
I've read a couple things from people saying that if Taylor Mays is here, the Jets won't hesitate, but I don't see how you take Mays when a superior prospect at the same position was available? If they were to turn Mays into a rush linebacker, then I could see it. If they need a safety, then they should take the red-hot board riser Nate Allen, who was another guy who shone at the Senior Bowl.
1.30 Minnesota Vikings - Jared Odrick, DT, Penn St.
A replacement for Pat Williams, who will be 37 this upcoming season. Another Senior Bowl star.
1.31 New Orleans Saints - Daryl Washington, LB, TCU
Yet another player who shined at the Senior Bowl. He a bit small for a LB, but he's an amazing tackler and has great instincts. I'd expect nothing less from a Gary Patterson player.
1.32 Indianapolis Colts - Charles Brown, OT, USC
The Colts don't have a lot of needs, and Tony Ugoh could stand to be upgraded.
Round 2: Picks 33-40
2.33 St. Louis Rams - Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
Why not pair Sam Bradford with a familiar face? Like Bradford, as long as Gresham's injury checks out, he's worthy of this pick. He'd be a nice weapon for whatever QB the Rams have.
2.34 Detroit Lions - Donovan Warren, CB, Michigan
Corner is a really underrated need for the Lions. Phillip Buchanon is very average, while Anthony Henry was repeatedly beaten all year. Warren is a great CB prospect who falls a bit because of the plethora of talented corners in this draft.
2.35 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota
The Bucs could use a possession guy to put across from Antonio Bryant, assuming of course he re-signs.
2.36 Kansas City Chiefs - Jerry Hughes, RLB, TCU
Hughes has fallen a bit in recent weeks becuase of the tendency of RLBs to bust. Still, he's a dynamic RLB prospect and if he's here, the Chiefs better not hesitate.
2.37 Washington Redskins - Jason Fox, OT, Miami
If they pass on an OT in the first round, then they have to get one here. We all wish Chris Samuels the best, but the fact remains that Washington has a huge hole at LT now. Jason Fox could fill said hole.
2.38 Cleveland Browns - Patrice Robinson, CB, Florida St.
Because they passed on Joe Haden, Cleveland gets a #1 corner here. This pick could also be a QB if they have one they like (like Zac Robinson or Tony Pike)
2.39 Oakland Raiders - Taylor Mays, S, USC
6'4, 230, potential 4.3 speed.
2.40 Seattle Seahawks - Jahvid Best, RB, California
The Seahawks were really hurting in the run game this year. Carroll has probably studied Jahvid Best plenty at USC, and if he checks out, Best is a likely choice here. Joe McKnight is also an option if Carroll wants to be a homer.
Round 2: Picks 41-48
2.41 Buffalo Bills - Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan
I love Dan LeFevour. I think he's incredibly underrated. He has great vision, he's athletic, and he has incredible accuracy on his throws. My only question going into the Senior Bowl was the deep ball, but he showed that he's good enough in that department to not be a problem. A lot of people call him Tim Tebow lite, but I think he's more NFL ready than Tebow (no mechanics issues) and he has more potential than Tebow. He struggled under center a little, but so will Sam Bradford at first. I think he could be the guy that gets the Bills back to the playoffs.
2.42 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Chicago) - Dominique Franks, CB, Oklahoma
This is the pick the Bucs got for Gaines Adams (R.I.P.). Dominique Franks would be a nice starter potentially opposite Aqib Talib.
2.43 Miami Dolphins - Von Miller, RLB, Texas A&M
An heir for the aging Joey Porter. Or a starter over the failed experiment Matt Roth. Either way.
2.44 New England Patriots (from Jacksonville) - Brandon Graham, RLB, Michigan
And people wonder why the Patriots are continously Super Bowl contenders.
2.45 Denver Broncos - Tony Pike, QB, Cincinnati
Kyle Orton will be a free agent in a few weeks. I believe he was nothing more than a one-year stop-gap guy for McDaniels until he could draft "his guy". Pike has a lot of the qualities that McDaniels covets for his shotgun-spread offense: accuracy, height, and mobility. Not a lot of arm strength, but this is the same guy who tried to trade for Matt Cassel over Jay Cutler, so arm strength obviously isn't a priority.
2.46 New York Giants - Darrell Stuckey, S, Kansas
The Giants need a safety. Stuckey is currently the higest rated safety available on my board. Key word: currently.
2.47 New England Patriots (from Tennessee) - Dennis Pitta, TE, BYU
Ben Watson is a free agent, and I doubt he's brought back. Pitta really impressed me this season. He didn't have the numbers, but he showed great hands and a Tony Gonzalez-like ability to find the hole in the zone. He'd be another great weapon for Brady.
2.48 Carolina Panthers - Zac Robinson, QB, Oklahoma St.
Even if the Panthers like Matt Moore, they can't eskew drafting a QB at some point in this draft, as Moore is unproven. It'd be nice to have a backup plan not named Jake Delhomme.
Round 2: Picks 49-56
2.49 San Francisco - Sergio Kindle, RLB, Texas
Manny Lawson looks like a bust. The Niners would love to get a guy to replace/motivate him. Kindle could be that.
2.50 Kansas City Chiefs (from Atlanta) - Vladmir Ducasse, G/RT, Massachusetts
Ducasse wasn't overly spectacular in the Senior Bowl, but he did well enough I believe to warrant a second round pick, and Kansas City needs the line help. I put G/RT because he could play either, and it would depend on where they would want to move Branden Albert.
2.51 Houston Texans - Rafael Priest, CB, TCU
Priest is a CB that I believe is very underrated. Watching him at the Fiesta Bowl, I couldn't believe this guy isn't getting more love. He was the best shutdown corner on the #1 defense in the country, who also held the #1 offense in the country to 17 points. If the Texans ever want to beat the Colts, they have to do it in the secondary. They have two pieces (Dunta Robinson, Bernard Pollard) but they're not there yet.
2.52 Pittsburgh Steelers - Jared Veldheer, OT, Hillsdale
Ben Roethlisberger was sacked 50 times this year. 50 times! That can't happen again. Veldheer is incredibly raw, but he has great size (6'9, 325) and good athleticism. His technique needs a little tuning, but good coaching will fix that, and you can't teach size like this. The Steelers like big lineman. Veldheer qualifies.
2.53 New England Patriots - Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois
I think Benn is overrated. He's athletic, but not DeSean Jackson athletic, and has hands of stone. Last time I checked, a receiver's job is to catch the ball. The fact that so many teams have WRs with terrible hands astounds me. All that being said, the Patriots have the luxury of taking a chance and hoping he pans out. Moss is no spring chicken.
2.54 Cincinnati Bengals - Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida
Name a TE on the Bengals roster. No, it's ok. I'll wait. That's what I thought.
2.55 Philadelphia Eagles - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, USF
JPP came out of nowhere this year. Which makes me worry about him. I'd have some issues with drafting a one-year-wonder (cough, Vernon Gholston, cough). The Eagles need another DE opposite Trent Cole, though.
2.56 Green Bay Packers - Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Depth for the o-line. Pouncey could play C, G, or RT. Saves a roster spot or two.
Round 2: Picks 57-64
2.57 Baltimore Ravens - Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama
They get a corner here. Fabian Washington was a good risk to take, but it seems to have failed. LaDarius Webb looks like the real deal, but he'll need help. This could be another WR though, as Mark Clayton is a poor excuse for a WR.
2.58 Arizona Cardinals - Eric Norwood, RLB, South Carolina
A replacement for Bert Berry, who recently retired. I considered a QB here, too.
2.59 Dallas Cowboys - Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida
Keith Brooking was an amazing signing, but he'll be 34 come the 2010 season. A long-term solution is soon needed.
2.60 San Diego Chargers - Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech
Malcolm Floyd, Vincent Jackson, and Darren Sproles are all free-agents. There's no way all 3 are re-signed. Floyd looks like the odd man out. Naanee showed promise, but competition is needed. San Diego loves big receivers. At 6'3, 230, Thomas fits the bill.
2.61 New York Jets - Arthur Jones, DE, Syracuse
Shaun Ellis and Marques Douglas will both be 33 next season. Some youth is needed.
2.62 Minnesota Vikings - Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
I put Tebow here because I believe that this is the lowest he'll fall. PAY ATTENTION JACKSONVILLE! The Jaguars will have to trade up somewhere before this spot to get Tebow. If Tebow is available, the Vikings wouldn't hesitate. Childress likes athletic QBs, and imagine how fast Tebow would learn mechanics and a pro-style offense watching Brett Favre (if he comes back). If Jacksonville trades up for Tebow, then this pick is probably Jonathan Dwyer (if Taylor leaves) or Jevan Snead.
2.63 New Orleans Saints - Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech
This pick will change if Pierre Thomas re-signs. I don't believe he will, so he'll need to be replaced. If he's brought back, I'll change the pick.
2.64 Indianapolis Colts - Jay Ross, DT, ECU
I don't care how fast you're defense is, you need someone to get push up the middle. Jay Ross, one of my favorite prospects in this class, would certainly do that.
Round 3: Picks 65-79
3.65 St. Louis Rams - D'Anthony Smith, DT, Louisiana Tech
3.66 Detroit Lions - Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno St.
Kevin Smith may not be ready for the 2010 season. A backup plan is needed.
3.67 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, DE, Washington
Washington's third round pick is forefit because they used it in the supplemental draft.
3.68 Kansas City Chiefs - Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB/KR, Indiana of Pennsylvaina
A lot of people don't know about this guy yet, but they will soon. At IUP, he averaged 29.7 yards per kick return, 12.5 yards per punt return, and had 5 special teams touchdowns. At 6'1 205, his 4.4. speed gives him a good mold for a project at CB (although I'd be willing to bet he could step in as a nickel corner right away), so you get a (potentially) future starting CB and a (undeniably) dynamic return specialist here. Thank you very much.
3.69 Oakland Raiders - Kelton Tindal, WR, Newberry
Another incredibly raw prospect, Kelton Tindal is rumored to have run a 4.16 40. Start printing Tindal jerseys in Oakland.
3.70 Philadelpia Eagles (from Seattle) - Reshad Jones, S, Georgia
3.71 Cleveland Browns - Dezmon Briscoe, WR, Kansas
3.72 Buffalo Bills - Marshawn Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati
3.73 Miami Dolphins - Torrell Troup, NT, UCF
3.74 Jacksonville Jaguars - Everson Griffen, DE, USC
3.75 Chicago Bears - Myron Rolle, S, Florida St.
Welcome to the draft, Chicago! A lot of people are questioning Rolle's dedication to football because he accepted a once-in-a-lifetime highly prestigious scholarship to go to study neuroscience at the best school in the world. I think that's pretty pathetic, to be honest. I like him a lot more knowing that he's intelligent and hard-working enough to get a Rhodes scholarship. If I needed a safety, and he was there in the bottom of round 2, I wouldn't hesitate. I think the Bears would get an immediate team leader and 12-year starter. Not bad for not having a pick in the first 2 rounds.
3.76 New York Giants - Ed Dickson, TE, Oregon
3.77 Tennessee Titans - Sean Lee, LB, Penn St.
3.78 Carolina Panthers - Brandon Lang, DE, Troy
3.79 San Francisco 49ers - Jevan Snead, QB, Ole Miss
What happened to this guy? I guess Michael Oher was kind've important...
Round 3: Picks 80-95
3.80 Denver Broncos - Myron Lewis, S, Vanderbilt
3.81 Houston Texans - Rob Gronkowski, TE, Arizona
This pick changes if Owen Daniels is brought back, which I believe won't happen.
3.82 Pittsburgh Steelers - Zane Beadles, G/OT, Utah
3.83 Atlanta Falcons - Jimmy Graham, TE, Miami FL
How much would a player like Jimmy Graham, who is raw but overflowing with potential, benefit from learning under the best TE in the history of the NFL? I'd venture to say enough to make him a Pro Bowler.
3.84 Cincinnati Bengals - Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama
3.85 Oakland Raiders - John Skelton, QB, Fordham
People will get their first look at Skelton at the combine. He has amazing size (6'5, 255), good-great arm strength, and intriguing athleticism. He's probably more of a pick in rounds 5-6, but Al Davis is usually an exception to rules.
3.86 Green Bay Packers - C.J. Wilson, DE, ECU
3.87 Philadelpia Eagles - Matt Tennant, C, Boston College
3.88 Baltimore Ravens - A.J. Edds, LB, Iowa
3.89 Arizona Cardinals - Bill Stull, QB, Pittsburgh
With Warner's retirement, the question now becomes do you feel comfortable turning the team over to Matt Leinart? Even if the Cardinals do, they'd be foolish not to get a mid-round QB for competition.
3.90 Dallas Cowboys - John Jerry, G/RT, Ole Miss
Major kudos to John Jerry for shedding some pounds. Down to 332 from 360, he's put himself back into the round 3-4 range.
3.91 San Diego Chargers - Chad Jones, S, LSU
3.92 Cleveland Browns - Max Hall, QB, BYU
3.93 Minnesota Vikings - Anthony Dixon, RB, Mississippi St.
This pick changes if Chester Taylor is brought back.
3.94 New Orleans Saints - Tyson Alualu, DT, California
3.95 Indianapolis Colts - Morgan Burnett, S, Georgia Tech
Round 4: Picks 96-111
4.96 St. Louis Rams - Rico McCoy, LB, Tennessee
You can't have a player named Paris starting at LB. You just can't.
4.97 Detroit Lions - Selvish Capers, OT, West Virginia
4.98 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Danario Alexander, WR, Missouri
4.99 Kansas City Chiefs - Andre Roberts, WR, The Citadel
The star of the Senior Bowl in my eyes was Andre Roberts. His route running and hands were really on display. Too bad the South QBs were so inept, because he could've had a huge game. He doesn't have tremendous upside, but he could be a #2 WR right now. The Chiefs have a #1 already.
4.100 Washington Redskins - Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
Over/under on the number of RBs on Washington's roster: 6.
4.101 Seattle Seahawks - Mike Kafka, QB, Northwestern
4.102 Cleveland Browns - Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern
4.103 Oakland Raiders - LeRoy Vann, CB/KR, Florida A&M
He's fast. He's really. He's so fast, he make fast people look not fast.
4.104 Buffalo Bills - J.D. Walton, C, Baylor
4.105 Jacksonville Jaguars - Syd'Qual Thompson, CB, California
4.106 Chicago Bears - Jeremy Williams, WR, Tulane
4.107 Miami Dolphins - Larry Asante, S, Nebraska
4.108 Tennessee Titans - Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest
Same mold as Alphonso Smith, but in a much deeper draft class. Although, Denver did use its first round pick on Smith...
4.109 Carolina Panthers - Jacoby Ford, WR, Clemson
4.110 San Francisco 49ers - Joe McKnight, RB, USC
I think McKnight will go a lot higher than this, but RB is so much of a non-need right now around the NFL that it's hard to place them. Someone in the second or third round will likely take him as a luxury pick, but there's no way he falls past here.
4.111 Denver Broncos - Cameron Sheffield, RLB, Troy
Round 4: Picks 112-127
4.112 New York Giants - Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky
Made a HUGE mistake not declaring last year. He would've likely been a first round pick last year. Now thanks to a terrible senior season he falls to round 4. Repeatedly burnt at the Senior Bowl.
4.113 Pittsburgh Steelers - Linval Joseph, NT/DE, ECU
4.114 Atlanta Falcons - Mike Neal, DT, Purdue
4.115 Houston Texans - Keith Toston, RB, Oklahoma St.
4.116 New England Patriots - Tim Hiller, QB, Western Michigan
A developmental QB for Belichek to sit behind Brady, whose replacement should start being considered.
4.117 Cincinnati Bengals - Roddrick Muckelroy, LB, Texas
4.118 Philadelphia Eagles - Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa
4.119 Green Bay Packers - Robert Johnson, S, Utah
4.120 Baltimore Ravens - John Estes, C, Hawaii
Matt Birk wasn't and isn't a permanent solution. Estes could be.
4.121 Arizona Cardinals - Garrett Graham, TE, Wisconsin
As if the Cardinals didn't have enough offensive weapons...
4.122 Dallas Cowboys - Freddie Barnes, WR, Bowling Green
4.123 San Diego Chargers - Jon Asamoah, G, Illinois
4.124 Philadephia Eagles (from NY Jets) - Vince Oghobaase, DT, Duke
Another guy who shoud've probably declared last year. Like Lindley, Oghobaase was a no show for his senior year and his stock has been hurt because of it.
4.125 Minnesota Vikings - Naaman Roosevelt, WR, Buffalo
Berrian may not be there next year. So, Minnesota could be looking for a third receiver to go with Harvin and Rice.
4.126 New Orleans Saints - Dekoda Watson, LB, Florida St.
4.127 Indianapolis Colts - Eric Olsen, G/C, Notre Dame
4.126
Round 5: Picks 128-143
5.128 St. Louis Rams - Derek Hardman, OT, Eastern Kentucy
5.129 Detroit Lions - Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss
Hardy has way too many questions surrounding him, from his work ethic to his durability, to justify taking him in the first 4 rounds. I think some idiot team will take him there, but I wouldn't touch him. Another guy who stuck around too long
5.130 Cleveland Browns (from Tampa Bay) - George Selve, RLB, USF
Another guy who should've declared last year. Oops.
5.131 Washington Redskins - Navorro Bowman, LB, Penn St.
5.132 Kansas City Cheifs - Pat Angerer, LB, Iowa
5.133 Cleveland Browns - Cam Thomas, NT, North Carolina
5.134 Oakland Raiders - Austen Lane, DE, Murray St.
5.135 Seattle Seahawks - Ben Ossai, OT, Washington
5.136 Buffalo Bills - Dexter McCluster, ATH, Ole Miss
McCluster's in the same situation as the RBs. A team in round 2-3 will take him as a luxury pick, but with no real defined position, I have trouble placing him.
5.137 Chicago Bears - Boo Robinson, DT, Wake Forest
5.138 Kansas City Chiefs (from Miami) - Jerome Murphy, CB, USF
5.139 Jacksonville Jaguars - Rennie Curran, LB, Georgia
5.140 Kansas City Chiefs (from Carolina) - Major Wright, S, Florida
5.141 San Francisco 49ers - Joe Pawelek, LB, Baylor
5.142 Detroit Lions (from Denver) - Lamarr Houston, DT, Texas
He's probably going to go higher than this, but I'm not a big fan of Houston. He's athletic, but not so much that I would spend a 2nd rounder on him. He's that one-year-wonder type prospect that worries me.
5.143 New York Giants - Adam Ulatoski, OT/G, Texas
Round 5: Picks 144-159
5.144 Tennessee Titans - Perry Riley, LB, LSU
5.145 Atlanta Falcons - Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
In the same boat as Lamarr Houston. A prospect that has been talked about a lot recently that will probably go much higher, but I'm just not impressed with.
5.146 Houston Texans - Daryl Sharpton, LB, Miami FL
5.147 Pittsburgh Steelers - Ricky Sapp, RLB, Clemson
5.148 Cincinnati Bengals - Jordan Shipley, WR/KR, Texas
5.149 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from New England) - Joique Bell, RB, Wayne St.
5.150 Green Bay Packers - Ed Wang, OT/G, Virginia Tech
Aaron Rodgers was sacked 50 times. Matt Cassel was cleaner.
5.151 St. Louis Rams (from Philadelphia) - Blair White, WR, Michigan St.
5.152 Baltimore Ravens - Colin Peek, TE, Alabama
5.153 Arizona Cardinals - Brandon Sharpe, RLB, Texas Tech
5.154 Oakland Raiders (from New England through Denver and Dallas) - Earl Mitchell, DT, Arizona
Heroin.
5.155 San Diego Chargers - Stephen Williams, WR, Toledo
I would love to see the Chargers draft a 5'10 receiver. (Williams is 6'5)
5.156 Cleveland Browns (from NY Jets) - Greg Boone, TE, Virginia Tech
5.157 Minnesota Vikings - Kyle McCarthy, S, Notre Dame
Safety depth plus special teams help. Saves a roster spot.
5.158 New York Jets (from Philadelphia through New Orleans) - Jonathan Crompton, QB, Tennessee
Probably doesn't deserve to be drafted, on the account of he's the worst QB of all-time, but someone will give him a chance to fail.
5.159 Indianapolis Colts - Brandon Banks, KR/PR, Kansas St.
One of two players who will get drafted strictly as KRs.
Round 6: Picks 160-191
6.160 St. Louis Rams - Antonio Brown, WR/KR, Central Michigan
6.161 Detroit Lions - Jarrett Brown, QB, West Virginia
If Detroit wanted to run some kind of Wildcat formation.
6.162 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Amari Spievey, CB, Iowa
6.163 Kansas City Chiefs - Jermaine Cunningham, RLB, Florida
6.164 Miami Dolphins (from Washington) - Jarvis Geathers, RLB, UCF
6.165 Carolina Panthers (from Oakland) - Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia
6.166 Seattle Seahawks - Duke Calhoun, WR, Memphis
6.167 Cleveland Browns - Ciron Black, OT, LSU
Would've been a first rounder in 2009.
6.168 Buffalo Bills - Kavell Connor, LB, Clemson
6.169 Miami Dolphins - Anthony McCoy, TE, USC
6.170 Jacksonville Jaguars - Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa
6.171 Chicago Bears - Taylor Price, WR, Ohio
6.172 San Francisco 49ers - Michael Smith, RB/KR, Arkansas
6.173 Denver Broncos - Koa Misi, RLB, Utah
6.174 New York Giants - Jamar Chaney, LB, Mississippi St.
6.175 Tennessee Titans - Kam Chancellor, S/LB, Virginia Tech
6.176 Cleveland Browns (from Carolina) - Eugene Jarvis, RB/KR, Kent St.
6.177 Houston Texans - Carlton Mitchell, WR, USF
6.178 Pittsburgh Steelers - Shay Hodge, WR, Ole Miss
6.179 Atlanta Falcons - Harry Coleman, S, LSU
6.180 New England Patriots - Ben Tate, RB, Auburn
6.181 Cincinnati Bengals - Lindsey Witten, DE, Connecticut
6.182 Buffalo Bills (from Philadelphia) - Erik Cook, C/OT, New Mexico
6.183 Green Bay Packers - Matt Kopa, OT, Stanford
Aaron Rodgers was sacked 50 times.
6.184 Baltimore Ravens - Alex Carrington, DE, Arkansas St.
6.185 Arizona Cardinals - Micah Johnson, LB, Kentucky
6.186 Dallas Cowboys - Brandon Carter, G, Texas Tech
I love seeing commercials for SUVs that "Can comfortably seat 7 full-size adults." Yeah, I'd love to see the SUV that could "comfortably seat" Brandon Carter (360), John Jerry (330), Flozell Adams (340), Terrence Cody (370), Leonard Davis (350), Marc Colombo (325), and Montrae Holland (325).
6.187 Houston Texans (from San Diego) - Trindon Holiday, KR, LSU
Will be the fastest player at the combine (Tindal didn't get an invite). The other pure return specialist.
6.188 New York Jets - Andrew Quarless, TE, Penn St.
6.189 Minnesota Vikings - LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon
...and watches the ships that go sailin'...
6.190 New Orleans Saints - Marlon Wynn, OT, Texas Tech
6.191 Philadelphia Eagles (from Indianapolis) - Kerry Meier, WR, Kansas
Round 7: Picks 192-223
7.192 St. Louis Rams - Darryl Clark, QB, Penn St.
The Rams' version of a WC specialist.
7.193 Buffalo Bills (from Detroit) - Kurt Coleman, S, Ohio St.
7.194 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Chris Marinelli, OT, Stanford
7.195 Washington Redskins - Boris Lee, LB, Troy
7.196 Miami Dolphins (from Kansas City) - Antonio Coleman, RLB, Auburn
7.197 Seatte Seahawks - Stafon Johnson, RB, USC
This pick makes too much poetic sense.
7.198 Cleveland Browns - Bryan Anderson, WR, Central Michigan
7.199 Oakland Raiders - Ryan Perriloux, QB, Jacksonville St.
The Raiders' version of a WC specialist.
7.200 Buffalo Bills - Lonyae Miller, RB, Fresno St.
It's the seventh round...
7.201 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from Jacksonville) - Ted Larsen, C, NC State
That snap was epic.
7.202 Chicago Bears - Carlos Singleton, WR, Memphis
If Ramses Barden can go in the third round, then someone is going to take a chance on 6'8 Carlos Singleton.
7.203 Miami Dolphins - Sam Young, OT, Notre Dame
7.204 Denver Broncos - Reggie Carter, LB, UCLA
7.205 New York Giants - Chris Scott, OT/G, Tennessee
7.206 Tennessee Titans - Dorin Dickerson, WR/TE/FB, Pittsburgh
The ultimate roster guy.
7.207 Carolina Panthers - Keith Buckman, OT, North Dakota St.
7.208 San Francisco 49ers - Caz Piurowski, TE, Florida St.
7.209 Pittsburgh Steelers - Joe Webb, ATH, UAB
7.210 St. Louis Rams (from Atlanta) - Riley Cooper, WR, Florida
7.211 Houston Texans - Barry Church, S/LB, Toledo
7.212 Cincinnati Bengals - Brandon James, RB/KR, Florida
7.213 New England Patriots - O'Brien Schofield, RLB, Wisconsin
Bad time to tear your ACL...
7.214 Green Bay Packers - Will Tukuafu, DE, Oregon
7.215 New England Patriots (from Philadelphia) - Ali Villanueva, TE, Army
If he's allowed to play...
7.216 Baltimore Ravens - Greg Paulus, QB, Syracuse
Definition of the term "developmental quarterback": Greg Paulus
7.217 Arizona Cardinals - Adrian Tracy, RLB, William & Mary
7.218 Dallas Cowboys - Hunter Lawrence, K, Texas
May happen a round or two earlier, but Dallas needs a kicker, and Lawrence is already in Texas...
7.219 San Diego Chargers - Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
Oh, man, am I gonna hear it for this one. Colt McCoy SHOULD NOT GET DRAFTED! Nothing against him, it's just his talent level is UDFA. However, there will be a team in round 2 (cough, Denver, cough) that will take him buying into the press. Colt's ceiling is an average backup. The Chargers could use a developmental guy to bring up as Rivers' backup to soon replace the capable but aging Billy Volek.
7.220 New York Jets - Clifton Geathers, DE, South Carolina
7.221 Minnesota Vikings - Scott Sicko, TE, New Hampshire
7.222 New Orleans Saints - Travis Ivey, DT, Maryland
The true Mr. Irrelevant is the second-to-last pick in the draft. Because he's the lowest pick that doesn't get an award.
7.223 Indianapolis Colts - Joe Cox, QB, Georgia
Mr. Irrelevant, indeed.
