As the world all knows that Super Bowl XLIV is coming up this Sunday it is time to point out who to watch. Everyone will point out the obvious: Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, etc. These ten players on this list that almost no one knows (besides Colts and Saints fans) of are outstanding players that no one is paying any attention to. So when you are watching the Super Bowl keep an eye on the guys on this list that no one else is. I hope you enjoy this list and of course Super Bowl XLIV.
The Saints have had the most physical defense I have seen all year in the playoffs. Tracy Porter is a huge piece to it that no one really even mentions. The only thing I have heard about him is the Pacman ghosts on his head. He makes huge plays quietly he was also the one who picked off Brett Favre which was critical in their win.
Will Smith in my opinion is one of the most underrated players in the entire NFL. He has 13.0 sacks thats only 0.5 less than so called beast Dwight Freeney on the Colts. Will Smith deserves some respect he didn't even make the Pro Bowl. So if I were the Colts I would be looking where number 91 is all day.
Austin Collie is a guy that has 60 catches on the season and does not even start ,in my opinion that is bizarre my friends. The Saints secondary is going to have their hands full with a five fingered receiver thunder punch of the Colts including tight end Dallas Clark.
I did not put Joseph Addai on this list just for running ball, but for catching the ball. Addai had 51 catches in the regular season which is pretty good for a team with five other players to throw the ball to. He is also a threat in the red zone posting up 10 rushing touchdowns, but he is not that great of a pure every down runner.
Eric Foster is just a fun player to watch. He is an average defensive lineman have 2.5 sacks on the regular season. It is fun to watch him because of his run blocking abilities Foster occasionally goes in as a full back to block for Addai and Donald Brown. Come on what is better than seeing a 300 plus pound lineman blocking in the back field?
In a Saints offense with a three headed monster backfield with Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush, and Drew Brees it should be a four headed monster. So little do other teams account for Mike Bell he has over 600 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. I say those stats are pretty good for a team with two other running backs to hand it to.
I think it is crazy how everyone is freaking out that Dwight Freeney might not play in the Super Bowl. It is because the Colts have D-E-P-T-H at their D-Line. Raheem Brock must be accounted for just because he is not Dwight Freeney. I would really watch this guy on Sunday he will probably play a lot. He is also a great player who could play and start for any NFL team.
Who is Bob Sanders? oh yea that guy who used to start at safety for the Colts. Once Melvin Bullitt got the news that Bob Sanders was out for the season Melvin Bullitt quickly stepped up to the plate. He is fifth on the Colts in tackles with 77 and is a tackle machine. Bullitt was also voted a team captain meaning that his teammates have trust in him. So i feel sorry for you Saints Receivers when you have to deal with this menace on the Sunday.
Throughout the 2009 season Clint Session really progressed. Session was one of the biggest keys to the Colts defense and team to getting to the Super Bowl. Session racked up over 100 tackles had 2 interceptions and taking one of those to the housed. Watch out for this guy he is the Ray Lewis of the Colts.
What better position to put on this list than a defensive tackle? Hargrove is a quiet beast he makes plays and nobody knows who it is. Hargrove has 5.0 sacks on the season which is good for a defensive tackle or any defensive lineman. Watch out for this guy it will be a good battle between Hargrove and Colts center Jeff Saturday.
