Chipper Jones, Atlanta Braves

In the week since I began picking players, I’ve yet to pick Chipper Jones. I know that he's been injured, and it seems as though he will be placed on the disabled list today. Remember, if he goes 0-0 in a game, your streak doesn't end.

If he does somehow play tonight, he could break loose tonight against Kyle Kendrick. You may remember Kendrick as the Phillies’ pitcher who was pranked into thinking he was traded to Japan for Kobayashi, the hot dog eater.  Kendrick’s opponent’s batting average is .280, and Jones is hitting .500 (5-10) against him in his career.

Dmitri Young, Washington Nationals

Speaking of hot dog eaters, Dmitri Young looks like a viable candidate to get a hit tonight. Young is hitting .727 (8-11) against Florida hurler Mark Hendrickson. Hendrickson’s opponent’s batting average is .287. Anytime a pitcher’s OBA is higher than Dmitri Young’s weight, you just have to go with him.
