I am not one that normally listens to people that like to talk about "knowing people". I believe that most people "in the know" really don't know all that much.

Had this information come from anyone else, then I would have simply laughed it off, and not have given it a second thought.

A friend of a friend works for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I promised him that I would not reveal his name, so don't bother asking, I WILL NOT TELL YOU!

According to him, it is believed by certain members of the organization that if Dick LeBeau is selected to the Hall of Fame, then he will retire.

To support his "THEORY", he pointed to Keith Butler turning down the Defensive Coordinator position with the Miami Dolphins.

"Why would a coach turn down that kind of opportunity, unless he could have it with the team he already loves?"

As I said, this is just a rumor at this point, but signs point to them being a possibility.

UPDATE: I spoke with Ray Seals earlier today, and since he is close to LeBeau, I asked his opinion of the matter. He told me he would be shocked if LeBeau was going to retire, because he loves the game so much.

Ray told me he would try to find out, and I will post here anything I hear from him. Check back!
