As a fan of wrestling and the WWE, sometimes things are easily predicable. Storylines and plots become stagnant and nothing is surprising. So, after WWE Champion Triple H was drafted to Smackdown! giving the Friday night show both the WWE Title and the World Heavyweight Championship, I knew it was just a matter of time before one champion lost.
With Batista's move to Raw, I expected the Animal to win the World Title and bring it with him to Monday nights. However, Edge retained. Triple H also retained his title against John Cena. Therefore, when Edge showed up on Raw last night, you could sense a title change in the air.
After Batista showed up to spoil the champion’s fun, I expected that he would win it and give Raw the World Title it was missing. I've never been happier to be so wrong. Batista laid out Edge and made his exit. Shortly after, CM Punk's music hit and he cashed in his Money in the Bank opportunity, quickly taking down Edge with the Go To Sleep, winning the World Title.
It was the first time in a long, long time that I actually marked out. Punk would go on to successfully defend his newly won title later that night against JBL. Now, with all that out of the way, I have to say that I don't think his run will last long. I expect him to drop the belt to either Cena or Batista sometime in the near future and it's a shame.
Honestly, I think this would be a great time to slowly turn him heel. Have him use uncharacteristically under-handed tactics to retain his belt before eventually making him completely turn. His promos would be great, as his heel persona in Ring of Honor was tremendous.
I just hope that I'm wrong again and that Punk does have a successful run as Champ. Let's hope the WWE proves me wrong again.

I was surprised but yet at the same time not surprised when CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Title. I mean, he has been holding on to the "Money-in-the-Bank" contract for a long time now. I do agree that seeing CM Punk turn heel would be a good move for him.
Sadly, this will turn into a Cena/Batista/Y2J/JBL feud over who will be the No.1 Contender. One thing I do think that may help is seeing Edge on RAW may be a sign of more crossovers from other superstars. I am sure it was a one-time deal to get the Heavyweight title on RAW, but it is possible that soon there may be some crossover plots coming in.

Young guys having alot of success early on has caused many of their careers to be ruined.
Casue in point Bobby LAshley.

Lashley left on his own terms because he wasn't happy there. Could have been politics. Could have been Hayes' racism. Could have been his desire to do MMA (which he's now doing).

It was because vince and the writers wanted his girlfriend to have a sex angle with Edge, she said no and left so did Bobby.
Nothing to do with Hayes.
