Demar Dorsey, the second best safety recruit in the nation, according to ESPNU, is Ann Arbor-bound, according to Sports Illustrated writer Andy Staples.

Dorsey chose the Wolverines over Florida State, USC and Tennessee after decommitting from Urban Meyer and Florida a few days ago.

ESPNU rated Dorsey a five-star recruit, and 12th overall in the nation.

After losing safety Sean Parker to Washington earlier today, Rich Rodriguez's recruiting efforts turned to Dorsey, who is a cousin of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson.

Dorsey, an Under Armour All-American from Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., provides stability in the secondary for the Wolverines, who lost All-Big Ten cornerback Donovan Warren to the NFL draft this past season.

Though many people don't expect Dorsey's signing to move Michigan's recruiting class too far up in the rankings, there's no doubt the Wolverines have added an outstanding athlete in an area they had a dire need.
