Fantasy Football: How Popular Is It Really?

First off, I am a huge fantasy sports lover. I play both baseball and football and tend to think that I am pretty good at both.

Today I had to go to Barnes and Noble to pick up a book, and I noticed that there was already an entire section dedicated to fantasy football magazines. I couldn't help but think that it was a little too early for them to be coming out.

Now, I realize that fantasy football is a huge business and that it brings in significant revenues every season. But come on, it's only June 30. For the most part we are still five to six weeks away from teams even starting their training camps.

I guess what I'm wondering is why would you publish a fantasy football magazine before training camps start? Every year there are injuries or people that held out of training camps.

On another note, I would like to mention that when I briefly looked over the ESPN fantasy mag I noticed that they had Adrian Peterson as second ranked running back and second ranked player overall. Even though he has a ridiculous upside, I don't think it's worth the second overall ranking.

That being said, I did draft him last year in the sixth round and he ended up leading me all the way to the championship game. And he was also the steal of the draft.

Happy drafting, everyone!
