Doubts about the La Tech 2010 Recruiting Class have been swirling ever since Derek Dooley departed for Rocky Top and Sonny Dykes stepped in to take his place.

Now is the time to put to rest those doubts and let Dykes' heavy recruiting talent take the wheel and put the Dawgs in a spot to conquer.

This year, the Bulldogs are ranked by Rivals.com at No. 4 in the WAC, just behind Fresno St., Hawaii, and Boise St.

Despite being ranked only No. 89 overall in the FBS, this is still an impressive stat given the two weeks that Coach Dykes had to work with the turbulent players recruited by the previous administration.

With 10 three-star recruits, and eleven total more than undefeated Boise State, Louisiana Tech can shrug off the old blues and deck the new athletes in Tech Blue, ready for a come-back season.

Taylor Burch - QB

School: Neville High, Monroe, LA
Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 205 lbs

No hype has been bigger in northeast Louisiana than Taylor Burch. In 2009, he led the Neville High Tigers to the Louisiana state 4A title, setting several records in the final championship game, where he was named the Offensive MVP.

Burch is a pro-style quarterback and is ranked No. 33 by Rivals.com nationwide in the this category.

He is ranked No. 21 overall in the state of Louisiana and is a solid verbal commit to the Dawgs, choosing La Tech over in-state rivals UL-Monroe and McNeese State.

Carey Fortson - WR

School: Longview High, Longview, TX
Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 170 lbs

Carey Fortson is a versatile athlete out of Longview, Texas, choosing La Tech over offers from Mizzou and SMU.

As well as compiling 798 receiving yards in his senior season, Fortson also racked up 389 kickoff return yards, including a 99-yard return for touchdown in a 45-0 shutout against Hallsville High, Texas.
He has doubled as a backup running back, putting up only 81 yards, but at 10.13 yards-per-carry.

Justin Goodman - CB

Ht:5'10"

Justin Goodman had been offered scholarships to Arizona and Utah, but choose the Bulldogs instead, ironically before Sonny Dykes, Arizona's Offensive Coordinator at the time, had accepted the La Tech head coaching position.

In 2009, Goodman helped Blinn C. C. win the national championship for junior colleges.

He recorded 165 total tackles at Blinn, 75 of which came this previous season, and one interception.

Goodman signed a L.O.I. for Tech on December 16, the first day that he was able to do so.

Kevin Kisseberth - LB

School: Klein HS, Klein, TX
Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 220 lbs

Kevin Kisseberth chose Tech over Iowa State, Minnesota, SMU, and Tulane.

In high school Kisseberth played on both offense, as a receiver, and defense, as a linebacker, becoming influential on both sides of the ball.

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 247 lbs

This strongside defensive end from Texas hopes to make his presence known at Tech this year, having made the 2009 2A Texas All-State Team.
He is a menace to opposing quarterbacks, recording 9 sacks and 21 hurries in his senior season alone.

Ryan Williams - CB

Wt: 180 lbs

From LaTechSports.com:

"Lettered all four years at B.C. Rains High School for Anthony Shaunberger ... Garnered all-state and all-region honors his senior year ... Named to the Southeast 120 list as well as the Senior Elite Eight ..."

Charcandrick West - RB

School: Springhill HS, Springhill, LA
Ht: 5'10"
Wt: 192 lbs

Although the Dawgs lost former RB commit Ketauras Stanton at the last minute, they more than made up the loss with the signing of Charcandrick West.

West won All-State honors in his senior year and all-district honors in his sophmore, junior, and senior years.

In 2009, he had 89 carries for an average of 15 yards-per-carry and a total of 1,350 yards and 16 touchdowns.

He is ideally placed to take over the vacancy left by monster record-holder Daniel Porter.

West was approached by Arkansas, UL-Monroe, and Nebraska, but liked the family atmosphere in Ruston the best.
