The Daytona 500 Preview! The Top 10
This is the trophy everyone will be fighting for...The Harley J. Earl Memorial Trophy, second only to the Borg Warner, this is one of the most sought after racing achievements in Motorsports. If you get your name on this piece of hardware you enter a realm that so many have raced their entire career without realizing the honor of winning The Great American Race! 9 time Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt only did it once, and this is the track that took such a great driver from us!
Who will be the next to etch their name into history? Check out my picks for the 52nd Daytona 500!
And The winner Is...
Coming off a successful first season as an owner/driver look for Tony and his team to start the season of to a great start, and a win at the 500 would definitely do the trick!!!
2nd Goes to!!!
Given the last few seasons certainly Dale Jr. is due for a strong performance, especially given he WAS an ace at this track. Look for Little E to regain some of his swagger in the coming season, with Daytona being his coming (back) out party!
3rd in the Great American Race
After an absolutely stellar season in 2009 look for Denny to come out swinging in 2010 and Daytona will be a good race for Denny, but he will not end up in front of his former teammate!
And in 4th place
Carl Edwards should be on track to do very well at the 500, but don't bet on him to win in the season opener!
5th place for the 5 team.
The Consummate 2nd place man won't get it done in this 500 but look for him to out place the Dynamic Duo of Jimmy and Jeff!
The year of the Kahne 6th place at the 500
Look for Kasey to return to form, but I don't know if the Dodge will be the car to win the 500 this year.
7th place in the 500
Look for the kid from Middletown to run towards the middle of the top 10 all day and finish strong in only his 2nd Daytona 500 in the drivers seat of the 20 car!
39 for 8th in the big one!
Look for Ryan to start hard in the second year in his new ride with SHR, which will no doubt keep the boss happy.
Look for the RCR car to perform to the nines for 9th!
Clint promises to keep all 4s on the track and come in with a top ten finish and a solid start to show he belongs among the front runners in the Sprint Cup Series!
And for the last of the top ten finishers in the 500!
Look for this Feisty CART Champion to show he's a world class driver on one of the biggest stages in motorsports. But time will run out for Juan and his chances of winning this race!
