There was no way that Matt Stajan had really left my team,

The goals he infrequently scored, and the face-offs he sometimes won

Somehow made being a Leafs fan all that more fun,

When he’d make a pass that would result in a giveaway,

Or when he’d fall down and break up a Leafs play,

It was always, “Go Stajan! Go Stajan!” we’d say,

But no, it was true, you had left my team,

And sadly, sadly, it wasn’t a dream

Now one word of wisdom as you quest for the Cup,

Maybe, for once, when you cross the blue line, keep your F#@&ing head up.
