Shawne Merriman for Aaron Kampman? Imagine the Possibilities

I was reading on ESPN.com that apparently Nick Barnett and Ryan Grant were having a discussion over Twitter about Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers coming to play for the Green and Gold.

As far as anyone knows, there have been no official talks.

But imagine the depth of Green Bay's linebacking corps if they had a solid pass rusher to complement rising star Clay Matthews. Gameplanning for Green Bay's No. 2 ranked defense would be very difficult, especially if the depth at DB is figured out.

Barnett also expressed interest in the possibility of Baltimore Ravens defensive end Dwan Edwards playing for the Pack next season. Edwards will be a free agent this offseason. He already has experience playing in the 3-4 defense, as does Merriman.

But all this is just speculation between two players and an analyst. Please comment and share your thoughts about this possibility.
