Now, since I am done with the tirade against a remark that he made in 2005 in the first part, here I am penning what I initially started out to do.
Me as Bernie Ecclestone for a day.
Being Bernie Ecclestone is big business. The blokes from CVC Capital Partners are trying to get me out of the game, but they don't know that I have an ace up my sleeve. I told Max not to worry too much about what is being said about him and me in the media, and that we need to maintain this charade of us being at loggerheads, so that people can start walking out of the woodwork trying to antagonise us against each other. That we can know who our enemy is and what they are fighting for.
Max gets very angry sometimes. He thinks I should throw down the gauntlet at the people in CVC and remind them as to who is the boss. He does not understand that it could prove counter productive.
This driver strike thing will not succeed. Poor blokes, they don't understand that we are the bosses and that they are mere paid drivers. I told Whitmarish and Dominecalli, pay these boys some more and they will stay out of the GPDA, and, without some of the top drivers, what good is the GPDA?
McLaren cannot talk about the breakaway faction anymore as they have been taught a lesson. They will learn to toe the line or else lose a few more championship points through grid penalties and the lot. I told Max to be strict with the whole F1 officialdom. Remind them as to what they should do if someone tries to question the my power.
Frank Williams called this morning; we discussed about the Russian GP, I told him that I will support it, Frank is going to test his Williams there, after all, he has to take care of his shareholders interests.
I forgot to remind my secretary not to pick up any calls from that bloke from the American news web site as he is hounding on my reasons not to put the US GP on the 2009 provisional list. Have to remind Max to keep them hanging for a while! Not that it is not budget savvy, but because the last time there was an US GP, it was egg on my face.
Have to call the Saad and remind him that my bones are not good enough to watch that belly dancer gyrating in the desert.

Ben, your heights of writing is something I can't achieve nor aim to! I truly liked the Drivers - Athletes article and to write something of that standard would need a few more streaks of gray in my cells

Nah! It was great. (period- no question about it) I have attention deficit, can't write more than a few lines and that too all at one go... midway through, I lose interest in the subject - same with reading - very few things I can read it at a time and your article I did read at a time, surprisingly!

Sarah that article speaks volume. How did you get the evidence haha? did you bug Mr Ecclestone and Mosley's offices lol??
brilliant article and here is a well deserved Pick of the day vote going for you my dear, however I would feel better if you were to stop spying on the big boys in the office, would hate it if they were to come down on us F1 community writers. I.E. pay a superlicense to write articles and then some more for every star rating we get plus a whooping 10 000 dollars tax for every POTD received. I'm out of here then lol
good work

Thank you Sir, much much indebted for the POTD vote. Was just trying to figure out the following:
1) Why Max would turn against Bernie after all these years?
2) Why there is a tiff between "Formula One Management" that is owned by Bernie, CVC Captical Partners, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan consortium, know for a fact that Wall Street types are playing a big role in this F1 drama and on the other side the FIA of which Max is the President. The Jewish connection of investment bankers are playing a dynamic role. Since Max was made the President of FIA under Bernie's aegis, it does not make sense that both are at 2 ends of the spectrum.
3) The reported 150% hike in the entry fee for teams is also on the back burner. They have decided to defer it for now and decide later.
4) Oct 2008, ends Max's turn as President
5) The Feeder series - FIA's F2 Vs. Bernie's GP 2 - what is behind this drama? so many questions!
6) Max wants the Teams to share 75% of the revenue while he says Bernie,CVC, Investment Bankers should only get 25% ---- Bernie opposes.
Looking at all these aspects, it only seems like they are playing poker and marginalize some third party that is in the picture - Max and Bernie are too close for comfort. Bernie wants the teams to sign off the extended Concorde Agreement for 2008 while Max wants the terms to be changed, Are they both playing a well tuned game, or are they both at loggerheads?

Political machination beyond our grasp I'm afraid! Thing is we haven't got enough information to work out what's really happening behind the curtains. I still think Bernie and Max are at loggerheads and it would make sense for a simple reason: power!!! Bernie is nearing the end, so is Max but one of these two has to leave a legacy behind and that's risky business. Mind the connections up in wall street and everything this one is a personal battle of ego - see Napoleon V Nelson, we know one was bravest and who was a much better overall strategist.
If you want my plain view (may be you don't) i just think Ecclestone-Mosley duet is nearing the end and something else will take up the vacant places once the power vaccuum will come in full force. I mean how would you feel if the president of your country and prime minister were both Senile old men who have lost touch with their purposes and most of all the people!

Unless there is a Ken Lay sort of something happening, I am intrigued! Your plain-speak helps! Bernie Ecclestone holds a major % of the stock in Delta Topco (a consortium of CVC Capital Partners, Lehman Brothers, Bernie's estate, JP Morgan and some more hedge funds) and they hold the F1 name till 2110 and also go under "Formula One Management" that handles the commercial side of things. The FIA is there only to oversee some arbitration, rules, and the organization. It is FIA which is demanding a major share of the F1 revenue as it is felt that Max has made a pact with the teams and has promised them 75% of the revenues with 25% going to "Formula One Management" - But the problem is that the TEAMS have NOT BITTEN the CAKE being offered by MAX and the FIA. Bernie blasted the idea and wants to take away Formula One from the FIA and on the other hand is also trying to get the teams to sign the new Concorde Agreement.
Now we see the volteface by Max, he increases the entry fee. Bernie and Max make up and the fee increase decision is deferred or is on hold. I am forseeing something similar on the F2 decision too as it violates the feeder series already in place, i.e., the GP2.
Who is the third party that will replace these gentlemen? Unless Michael Dell or Bill Gates is interested, I am not aware of any contenders as yet. Jean Todt as replacement for Max Mosley? ...............for Bernie Ecclestone.
The teams are also waiting post Paris meeting.
