After having this discussion with many of my friends, I decided to put together a list of "My Top 10 Favorite Wrestlers of All Time." This list was not easy to put together as there are so many possible candidates. It took me quite awhile to do, but I was finally able to narrow it down.
I don't want to waste any more of your time, so without further ado, let's get started!
10. Shelton Benjamin
I know this may seem like an odd choice for my top ten list but "The Gold Standard" has always been one of my favorites. He is arguably one of the greatest all-around athletes professional wrestling has ever seen. Unfortunately, Benjamin is probably the most underused superstar in the WWE. He has never been given the push that he deserves or is capable of having.
Accomplishments:
WWE IC Champion(3x)
WWE Tag Team Champion(2x)
WWE US Champion
9. Macho Man Randy Savage
Oooooooohhhhhhh Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh! Whether it was the bright colors he sported in his early WWF days or the black he wore at the end of his WCW days, any wrestling fan could recognize Savage by his deep voice. The Macho Man was continuously in feuds with Hogan and Ric Flair. Hopefully Macho Man will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame to showcase his greatness.
Accomplishments:
WCW Champion(4x)
WWF Champion(2x)
WWF IC Champion
WWF King of th Ring
8. Edge
"The Rated-R Superstar" has become one of the biggest names in the WWE over the last few years. He came into the business as part of a tag-team with his "brother" Christian. Together they competed in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches against the Hardyz and the Dudleyz. They are considered one of the greatest teams ever. However, Edge has done pretty well for himself since the team disbanded.
Accomplishments:
WWE Champion(4x)
World Heavyweight Champion(5x)
WWE IC Champion(5x)
WWF Tag Team Champion(12x)
WWE Tag Team Champion(2x)
WCW US Champion
King of the Ring
Mr. Money in the Bank(2x)
7. Chris Jericho
"Y2J," Chris Jericho has made quite a name for himself in the wrestling business. He was one of the top Cruiserweights in WCW and has become one of the top superstars in the WWE. Not only has Jericho been one of the best wrestlers, he's also become a heavy metal star. His band, "Fozzy" has recorded four albums, one of their singles is even being used as the theme song for the 2010 Royal Rumble.
Accomplishments:
WCW Cruiserweight Champion(4x)
WCW TV Champion
WCW Champion(2x)
World Heavyweight Champion(2x)
WWF European Champion
WWF Hardcore Champion
WWE IC Champion(9x)
WWE Tag Team Champion
WWE Undisputed Champion
WWE World Tag Team Champion(4x)
6. Triple H
The Game Triple H is one of the most recognizable names in professional wrestling history. He gained original sucess as a member of D-Generation X. After DX disbanded for the first time, Triple H took off as a singles wrestler, winning numerous world titles. Triple H has shown how tough he really is after he suffered not one, but two torn quadricep muscles, both times finishing the match. He's not doing too bad for himself either, as he is married to Stephanie McMahon, the daughter of WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon.
5. Sting
I am going way back to WCW Sting. When Sting first burst onto the scene in WCW he sported bright face paint and blonde hair. Over time he ditched the bright colors for white and black and became a much more dark character.
Regardless, Sting was one of the best wrestlers of his time. At one point he joined the nWo Wolfpack as well. Unfortunately, we will never get to see Sting in the WWE as he and Vince do not exactly get along.
Accomplishments:
WCW US Champion
WCW World Heavyweight Champion(6x)
WCW Tag Team Champion(3x)
TNA World Heavyweight Champion(2x)
TNA Tag Team Champion
4. Jeff Hardy
No matter what controversy has surrounded Jeff Hardy, he has always been one of my favorites. He has always given everything he has in every match. While HBK may have made the Ladder Match famous, Jeff Hardy perfected it. Hardy has stolen the show in the TLC matches by taking risk after risk. All of this has arguably paid off as he will surely be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame somewhere down the line.
Accomplishments:
WCW Tag Team Champion
World Heavyweight Champion(2x)
WWE Champion
WWF European Champion
WWF Hardcore Champion(3x)
WWE IC Champion(4x)
WWF Light Heavyweight Champion
WWE Tag Team Champion(6x)
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Rattlesnake basically invented controversy in the WWE. Whether it was stomping a mud hole in Vince or downing half a dozen "Stevewesiers," Stone Cold was always takin' names and kickin' ass. Austin was involved in some of the greatest feuds this business has ever seen. His matches with The Rock and Triple H are arguably some of the best matches ever.
Accomplishments:
WCW US Champion(2x)
WCW Tag Team Champion
WCW TV Champion(2x)
WWF Champion(6x)
WWF IC Champion(2x)
WWF Tag Team Champion(4x)
King of the Ring
Royal Rumble
WWE Hall of Fame
2-The Rock
The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment comes in at number two on my list. The Rock is one of the few that could "talk the talk and walk the walk." He is known for his many catchphrases and getting the crowd involved better than anyone else.
The Rock has had some of the greatest feuds in WWE history against the likes of Triple H, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and many more. It is just a matter of time before The Great One is enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
Accomplishments:
WCW World Champion(2x)
WWE Champion(7x)
WWE IC Champion(2x)
WWF Tag Team Champion(5x)
Royal Rumble Winner
1-Hulk Hogan
What can we say about Hulk Hogan? Hoganhelped put the WWF on the map. He had the charisma, the look, and the fans to help carry professional wrestling to what it is today. Hogan turned against the fans when he went to WCW but even when he was a heel, the fans still loved him and paid to see him. Hogan has gone through some tough times as of late, however he is without a question my favorite wrestler of all time.
Accomplishments:
WCW World Heavyweight Champion(6x)
WWE Champion(6x)
WWE Tag Team Champion
Royal Rumble Winner(2x)
Hall of Fame
