A recruiting insider close to Lakota West High School has learned that five-star linebacker recruit Jordan Hicks will announce his decision at a news conference this Friday at 12:30 PM ET.
Cincinnati recruiting writer Mike Dyer Hicks tweeted the news this morning.
The five-star outside linebacker is deciding between Ohio State, Florida, and Texas. The Longhorns looked to be in the lead for the early part of the recruiting season after Hicks took a visit to Austin and came back raving about Mack Brown and his staff.
But Jim Tressel and the Ohio State Buckeyes have come on strong in the offseason, and Ohio State FC Tim Bielik believes their efforts have both forestalled Hicks from making his announcement and put OSU in the running.
No one's counting out the Florida Gators, either. A commenter on an earlier post liked the Gators chances at "40 percent" and related that some recruiting insiders think he's been leaning towards heading to Gainesville as Texas' allure has waned.
Tune in on Friday to find out where he decides to go.
