Jorge Rodrigo Barrios held the WBO Super Featherweight Championship 2005-2006.  His most recent battle takes place inside of a courthouse some 250 miles away from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He is alleged to have been involved in an auto accident where he lost control of his car and crashed into other vehicles on the road.

The accident, which occurred on Sunday, left a 20-year-old pregnant woman dead.  Six other people involved were injured.

Barrios was reported to have left the scene immediately following the accident and then later turned himself in to the local authorities alongside his lawyer.

Barrios burst onto the international boxing scene back in 2003 when he came within seconds of beating then undefeated Acelino Freitas.  His exciting style and colorful personality has made him a fan favorite in the ring.

The popular fighter with the nickname "La Hiena" is promoted by Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
