Today the Philadelphia Flyers finally signed their main priority. Jeff Carter signed a new 3 year $15 million dollar deal.

In 82 games last season, Carter had 29 goals and 24 assists for 53 points. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said the following:

"Jeff is a terrific young player who has come up through our organization, and we believe he is only going to get better," said Holmgren. "It is a priority for us to keep our young core of players intact, and signing Jeff allows us to do that."

“I’m very excited to be staying in Philadelphia," said Carter. "We have great group of guys on this team and I can’t wait to get back on the ice and continue where we left off last season."

This was an important step in the off-season process for the Flyers also for the next few years because of how young this team is. They gelled together very quickly, so it looks as if it will only get better from here.

The Flyers are not done spending this off-season, expect more trades and signings ahead.
