After waiting it out in the rain and the top 35 to qualify in Loudon, New Hampshire, it was a time to shine for the car of Patrick Carpentier. He knocked off Bobby Labonte for his first career Sprint Cup pole.

Reed Sorenson had the top spot until he was knocked off by Labonte. Then Labonte held the spot until Carpentier claimed it.

Along with Carpentier, four of the top 10 cars were cars that had to qualify based on speed. Scott Riggs will start in third place after missing the race last weekend at Infineon.

Dario Franchitti, who also missed the race last weekend, will start in seventh.

A.J. Allmendinger will start in the tenth spot.

The "Go or Go Home" drivers who will not race on Sunday are Tony Raines and Marcus Ambrose.

The race on Sunday will begin at 1:15 on TNT, MRN and Sirius.
