Here is my 2010 mock draft

This is my picks for the draft. I beleive that we have seen a positve draft grade in 2009 with the additions of Stafford, Pettigrew, and Delmas. The Lions offense showed alot of improvement in 09' putting up descent numbers against some of the leagues top defenses. In the 09' draft, 6 of the 10 players drafted were offense. Its obvious where the draft needs to fill in this year; defense. If we drafted 5 or 6 defensive players this year we could be a well rounded team, with youth on both sides of the ball. It wouldn't be a bad start and defenitely give the coaches something to build off of. The lions need to get tough, agile, hard-hittin players, I think this mock-up draft line-up is just the type of attitude that needs to be added to the roster. The first move would be to trade the No. 2 pick for 2 lower picks in the first round. Possibly even trade Julian Peterson for a No. 1 or No. 2 draft pick. The more the better. A lion is fierce, loud, tough, and puts fear into their prey. But, the opponents don't fear us, we need attitude, we need to get tough, and I think the picks here will help set that attitude and put us on the right track.
1 Pick: CB - Joe Haden
Good tackler and great closing speed. Better in coverage than when going man to man but can play both roles pretty well. Has good height for a corner at 5'11' 190 lbs. Haden is projected to go in the first round. I think Lions would be smart in picking him up, that is unless they trade down.
2 Pick: Safety - Reshad Jones
Teaming up 6'2'' 212lb Reshad Jones with Louis Delmas in the safety position would be a 1-2 knockout punch in the Lions secondary. Jones like Delmas is a magnet to the ball carrier, and is an explosive player that has alot of on-field attitude and likes to hit hard. Just the kind of players the defense needs.Jones is an experienced strong safety.
3rd Pick: OL - Lee Ziemba
6'8'' 304lbs Ziemba is physically imposing. Big yet with the athleticism to play LT. He would be the perfect draft pick to protect Stafford.
4th Pick: DT - Boo Robinson
Agile for such a big man. Caves the pocket. Must be double-teamed. Strong and very, very smart. Can outthink and outmanuever most offensive linemen. Getting better and stronger every year. Has loads of upside. Robinson would be a perfect fit in Detroit's 4-3 sheme.
5th Pick: DE - Derrick Morgan
6'4'' 275lbs with 37 tackles, 15 assists, 12 sacks and 2 FF in 09' I think it would be an understatement to say he would be a great fit on the defensive line. wouldn't you agree.I doubt he will be around in the 5th round, but if he is Lions should take him.
6th Pick: WR - Dezmond Briscoe
At 6'3'' 200 lbs Dezmond Briscoe would be the perfect WR opposite Calvin Johnson. He has great speed and tough to bring down. I would love to see the Lions draft another great target for Stafford.
7th Pick: OLB - Dekoda Watson
Watson would be a good choice at linebacker. 6'2'' 226lbs Watson is an explosive linebacker who understands the game and Will join with Patrick Robinson as the Seminoles' top defensive players in 2009...one of the most athletic players in the ACC, Watson was named seventh on ESPN's top 10 list of workout warriors.Although he is recovering from minor surgery I dont beleive it will be a setback. According to a new study, 83 percent of athletes who had "Tommy John" elbow reconstruction surgery were able to return to the same or better level of play. He is projected to go in the 6th round.
