Dallas Stars: Eriksson Wastes No Time Signing With Dallas

24 hours after making qualifying offers to six members of their roster, Dallas has inked the first of the six to a multi-year contract. Dallas drafted Loui Eriksson, a 22-year-old left-winger from Goteborg, Sweden, in 2003,, as the 33rd pick of the draft, has signed a two-year deal with Dallas worth $3.2 million.

Dallas said that he will earn $1.5 in the 2008-09 season, and 1.7 million during the 2009-10 campaign. Eriksson enjoyed a career year with Dallas in 2007-08, playing 69 games, and garnering 31 points. Eriksson also played in all 18 of Dallas's playoff games this past season, scoring 4 goals and 4 assists, including 1 power play goal against Anaheim.

With this new two-year contract, Eriksson joins Brett Hull, Les Jackson, Dave Tippett, Trevor Daley, Toby Petersen, and Dan Jancevski, who have all inked new, multi-year contracts with the organization.
