Bolton had earlier said they would soon sign a big money mystery striker. Well, it's not Luis Saha, Bafetimbi Gomis, Andrei Arshavin, Jeremy Menez, or Eidur Gudjohnsen, it's Johan Elmander from Toulouse.
Elmander has signed a three-year contract and seals a deal Gary Megson has been looking to finalise for six months.
While no fee has been announced, it is estimated to be around the £10million mark, eclipsing the club-record free Bolton paid Fenerbahce for Nicolas Anelka.
The Swedish International was an energetic part of Sweden's team at Euro 2008, who were ejected from the tournament as Russia and Spain moved on from their group.
Is Elmander the answer to Bolton's problem? Bolton, who narrowly escaped relegation last time out? Only time will tell.
Bolton had earlier signed Birmingham's Fabrice Muamba.

Shock isn't the word than can describe the way I'm feeling - but this has come from the blue!

Based on what I observed from him in Euro 2008 with the Swedes, I guess he probably has to change his position at Bolton Wanderers.

His goal scoring record is mediocre, suggesting he has been brought to create more than anything. Bolton still need a goalscorer if they are to avoid a relegation scrap next season, nothing Elmander has done in his career suggests he will score more than 10 league goals next season, and thats not enough.

10 million pounds is simply far too much.
