Hey Fight Fans! I've decided to analyze four fighters who I believe are at the cusp of entering the Hall of Fame. Those fighters are:

-Miguel Cotto
-Ricky Hatton
-Joel Casamayor
-Glen Johnson

Of course some agree that they should enter while others will argue that they have no business entering the Hall of Fame.

So check it out and comment your opinions.

Miguel Cotto

78729492

Notable Wins: Ricardo Torres, Paul Malignaggi, Carlos Quintana, Zab Judah, Shane Mosley, Joshua Clottey

Notable Losses: Antonio Margarito, Manny Pacquiao

Championship & Divisions: Three World Titles/ Champion in two Weight Divisions

-WBO Light Welterweight Title (140 lbs)
-WBA World Welterweight Title (147lbs)
-WBO Welterweight Title (147 lbs)

The Case for Cotto:

•Cotto could still do enough or has done enough to warrant a spot as a hall of famer.
•He has faced stiffed competition such as Zab Judah, Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey and Manny Pacquiao
•He is also a champion in two weight divisions

Why he shouldn’t be here:
•Cotto needs another strong victory against an elite Welterweight or going up another weight division to become a champion in three weight divisions.

Ricky Hatton

92584507

Notable Wins: Kostya Tszyu, Luis Collazo, Juan Urango, Jose Luis Castillo, Paul Malignaggi

Notable Loses: Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao

Championships and Divisions: One Lineal World Title/ Two World titles / Champion in two Weight Divisions

-Lineal Jr. Welterweight Champion (6/4/05-5/02/09) (140 lbs)
-IBF Light Welterweight Champion (140lbs)
-WBA World Welterweight Champion (147 lbs)

Why he should get in:
• He was the lineal light welterweight champion for four years.
• Captured a world title by moving up to the welterweight division.
• He has a devoted following and remains one of the most popular British fighters.

Why he shouldn’t get in:
• Never really followed up after his career defining win against Kostya Tszyu.
• He won a dubious decision against Luis Collazo and beat good but not elite opposition such as Paul Malignaggi and Juan Urango.
• He was knocked out by both Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Joel Casamayor

82807373

Notable Wins: Nate Campbell, Diego Corrales (2), Michael Katsidis,

Notable Loses: Ancelino Freitas, Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Juan Manuel Marquez

Championships and Divisions: One Lineal World Title/ Two World Titles/ Champion in two Weight Divisions

- Lineal Lightweight Title (10/06-9/08) (135lbs)
-WBA World Super Featherweight Title (130 lbs)
-WBC Lightweight Title (135 lbs)

Why he should get in:

• Became a lineal champion by defeating Diego Corrales.
• Resurrected his career with an upset of Michael Katsidis.
• Fought some of the best lightweight opposition such as Ancelino Freitas, Diego Corrales, and Jose Luis Castillo.

Why he shouldn’t get in:

• He has more notable losses than he has notable wins.
• Never really lived up to his potential as Olympic medalist.

Glen Johnson

Rackmultipart

Notable Wins: Eric Harding, Clinton Woods, Roy Jones Jr., Antonio Tarver

Notable Losses: Bernard Hopkins, Julio Caesar Gonzalez, Antonio Tarver, Clinton Woods, Chad Dawson (2)

Championships and Divisions:
-Lineal Lightweight Title (12/04-6/05)
-IBF Lightweight

Why he should be in:
• He defeated Roy Jones and then highly touted Antonio Tarver in 2004. Not many fighters can say that.
• He also has notable wins against Clinton Woods and lost a disputed decision when he faced Chad Dawson in their first meeting

Why he shouldn’t be here:
• Glen Johnson record isn’t glamorous by any means.
• He didn’t capture gold in other divisions and needed one more significant win to strengthen his argument.
