SAN FRANCISCO - AUGUST 26: Bengie Molina #1 of the San Francisco Giants crosses home plate as a fan takes a picture after he hit a pinch hit 3-run home run to give the Giants a 4-3 lead in the eighth inning of their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at AT&T Park on August 26, 2009 in San Francisco, California. For those of you who don't know, yesterday I decided to write shorts because sometimes, I just have that much to say. Strange thing was my first short was about NBA All Star voting.  Today is Bengie Molina.

This is a mutual miss with upside for the Mets. Yeah, we missed out on his hitting, which is decent. And we might be missing out on his defense, but we do have Henry Blanco so all the defense is far from lost. Molina is old, declining, and wanted too much for his own good. Oh and did I mention he got less from SF, thats what he gets for trying to play the buyer in a buyer's market.

The good news is that we are not pinned down by Molina his age or his money, which is great. The problem is we need some kind of bat, I think.

Forget about it lets sign Mauer next year!
