One of the greatest days of each year is the day when AskMen.com comes out with their Top 99 Women list. They've been doing it since 2001 (when it was just a Top 50) with the exception of 2004. Today they will be releasing their first one of the new decade, the The Top 99 Women of 2010.

One thing you may not know about these lists are that they are packed with athletes. Some present, some past, and some that you had no idea were even athletes to begin with.

So in honor of the new 2010 list, I'm counting down the 25 Hottest Sports Gals to Ever Crack the Top 99, in order of how many years they made the list.

No. 25: Jill Arrington—2003

Rackmultipart

Although Erin Andrews has claimed the title of Sideline Princess, fellow sideliner Jill Arrington has one over her: a spot on the Top 99, which Erin has never achieved until this year.

Not only is she a sideline hottie, but Jill Arrington also played tennis for the University of Miami. That's sporty hot right there.

Highest Rank: 96

No. 24: Jennie Finch—2005

Rackmultipart

You already know Jennie Finch. Not only is she strikingly beautiful, making guys everywhere start paying attention to softball, but she is a dominant player as well. Still playing for the US team, Finch remains the reigning queen of the diamond.

There's something sexy about a girl that can strike you out, too.

Highest Rank: 92

No. 23: Trish Stratus—2006

Rackmultipart

If you think that professional wrestling isn't a sport, you can a) take it up with our wrestling community; I'm sure they might disagree, or b) take it up with Trish, who could probably squash your head between her thighs like a walnut.

What's that? Yeah, I didn't think I heard anything.

Highest Rank: 30

No. 22: Danica Patrick—2009

Rackmultipart

One of the biggest "hot or not" debates in the sporting world, you can't deny that Danica has her moments that make you go "wow." And now that she might be coming to NASCAR soon enough, you may not be able to get away from Danica.

If she's looking like this, I'm going to go ahead and say that's a good thing.

Highest Rank: 91

No. 21: Naureen Zaim—2007

Rackmultipart

This actress and model may not exactly be a household name or face, but she has got a body that I can't forget.

I'm glad a promoter for Perfect 10 found her and decided to put her in a boxing ring to fight other models. That's like Christmas every day.

Highest Rank: 72

No. 20: Summer Altice—2003

Rackmultipart

This model and actress has had bit parts in movies like Wedding Crashers and The Scorpion King, but it's not really her acting that gets us going.

One thing that does get us going is how she played volleyball at SDSU. I'd bump, set, and spike it.

Highest Rank: 39

No. 19: Gina Carano—2009

Rackmultipart

If the name Gina Carano isn't familiar to you, you'd better get your head out of your ass. The face of women's MMA is a very pretty face indeed.

While she may have gotten beaten badly in her biggest fight of 2009, you can't deny that seeing a woman this hot kick some butt is enough to get you tuning in. Hell, I'd watch her play dominos.

Highest Rank: 73

No. 18: Leryn Franco—2009

Rackmultipart

Leryn Franco is tall and gorgeous. One of the most naturally beautiful women I think I've ever seen, Leryn isn't even a full-time model. Her real job is javelin thrower.

While she may not be the best javelin thrower out there, she's definitely the hottest, which makes her my favorite by far.

Highest Rank: 86

No. 17: Candice Michelle—2007

Rackmultipart

Candice Michelle spent a few years modeling before participating in the WWE Diva Search, and was promptly hired. It's easy to see why; she obviously has a great grasp of wrestling moves.

Okay, so that may not be the biggest reason she was hired, but it definitely has a lot to do with her making this list.

Highest Rank: 82

No. 16: Stacy Keibler—2009

Rackmultipart

How Stacey Keibler has only made the Top 99 in the past year is a mystery and a damn crime of humanity. I wish I could put her much higher, but her single year on the list prevents me.

Any woman that could almost get Barney to give up his suits for her must be an extraordinary one, and Keibler is that indeed. Almost makes me wish she quit wrestling earlier so she could have gotten famous more quickly, but wrestling is what got her here, so I'll take it.

Highest Rank: 39

No. 15: Kelly Hu—2003-2005

Rackmultipart

Kelly Hu is a beauty queen, model, and actress, but that almost didn't happen. As a girl, she was very interested in martial arts, and almost made that her calling.

But, as we know, you can't keep a face like that down and she fulfilled her destiny as someone who makes pictures that make me happy. I'm sure she could have been a great martial artist, though.

Highest Rank: 23 (2005)

No. 14: Estella Warren—2002-2003

Rackmultipart

Who is this woman? Is she the sexy star of Planet of the Apes and Driven, or is she the three-time Canadian national champion synchronized swimmer?

It's a trick question: she's both. With her and the Feres twins, I think we need to start watching synchronized swimming a lot more closely.

Highest Rank: 50 (2002)

No. 13: Ana Ivanovic—2008-2009

Rackmultipart

Ever since Anna Kournikova, tall, leggy, Russian blondes have been hogging all the attention in the WTA. But Ana Ivanovic is here to change that.

Not only is she heating it up off the court with fellow athlete Adam Scott, but she's also one of the top players in the game, heating it up on the court.

Highest Rank: 73 (2008)

No. 12: Kate Bosworth—2005-2006

Rackmultipart

We all know Kate Bosworth from her acting, including the kind-of sports movie Blue Crush, but she was also a champion equestrian at age 14.

Does riding horses make you an athlete? I'm not sure, but if John Daly can be called an athlete for what he does, I think we can lump Kate in for now.

Highest Rank: 38 (2006)

No. 11: Rachel McAdams—2007-2008

Rackmultipart

She's a mean girl, a wedding crasher, and now a sexy love interest to Sherlock Holmes, but Rachel McAdams was also an ice queen.

At the age of four, she took up competitive figure skating. The only four-year-olds I know now take up picking their noses and napping, so I'm going to say this qualifies her as an athlete.

Highest Rank: 15 (2007)

No. 10: Bridget Moynahan—2005-2007

Rackmultipart

Before she was Tom Brady's baby mama, Bridget Moynahan was heating up our movie screens. Before that, she was kicking butt in school.

Not only did she play basketball, soccer, and lacrosse in high school, but she captained those teams. Oh captain, my captain. I'd follow her anywhere.

Highest Rank: 50 (2005)

No. 9: Shannon Elizabeth—2002-2005

Rackmultipart

Shannon Elizabeth was that naked foreign girl in American Pie, right? That's what I thought. Wait, she did other movies? Are you sure? People saw them?

Either way, Shannon almost didn't become an actress and give us that iconic performance because, as a teen, she considered a career playing tennis professionally.

I think she made the right choice. For us.

Highest Rank: 33 (2003)

No. 8: Kristin Kreuk—2003-2005, 2007

Rackmultipart

We know Kristin Kreuk from her time getting saved by Superman on Smallville, but we wouldn't have gotten that pleasure if it weren't for an unfortunate event in her life.

Kreuk was actually training in gymnastics as a national level until scoliosis forced her to quit during her junior year of high school.

As sad at that is, I'm glad she kept that figure, and I'm glad I got to watch it on TV.

Highest Rank: 16 (2003)

No. 7: Gabrielle Union—2005-2007

Rackmultipart

We know Gabrielle Union has a thing for basketball players, most recently Dwyane Wade, but that may be because she has a thing for basketball in general.

She was an All-Star point guard in high school and played soccer and track as well. That's talent right there.

Highest Rank: 91 (2005)

No. 6: Torrie Wilson—2006-2007, 2009

Rackmultipart

The wrestler who made it onto the Top 99 the most, Torrie Wilson is an icon in the WWE. It's no surprise that she's the one who got singled out. The very definition of a Diva, Torrie Wilson is just as tough as she is sexy.

And she is very, very sexy.

Highest Rank: 22 (2006)

No. 5: Maria Sharapova—2006-2009

Rackmultipart

It's hard to rank Maria and Anna. Sharapova could very well get her fifth year on the Top 99 in 2010, beating out Kournikova, but Anna may have lost a few eligible years because she was around before 2001.

So, for right now, I'm going to have to go with the innovator in front, but that doesn't mean Sharapova is getting shafted. She's still going strong and just as hot as ever. Even if she did lose in the first round of the Australian Open, she's got a decent career as a model waiting for her.

Highest Rank: 31 (2006)

No. 4: Anna Kournikova—2002-2006

Rackmultipart

Here is the woman who made tennis sexy. You may have not known anything about tennis, but dammit, when Anna played, you were watching. When she started posing in bikinis, it cemented it.

Her inclusion on the Top 99 this many times is proof: Anna Kournikova was the hottest athlete of her generation, and I do miss the good ol' days.

Highest Rank: 35 (2003)

No. 3: Ali Landry—2001-2005

Rackmultipart

Ali Landry may not have had a lot of athletic experience, but her effort in The Superstars left no doubt in my mind: She is an athlete.

Getting paired with "The Moustache" Jeff Kent and outlasting "real" athletes such as Lisa Leslie and Jennifer Capriati means that she makes the cut.

And making the Top 99 for for several years running is nothing to be ashamed of.

Damn, I want some Doritos now. I can't help it.

Highest Rank: 15 (2002)

No. 2: Gisele Bundchen Brady—2001-2008

Rackmultipart

Mrs. Tom Brady is a lot more than just Mrs. Tom Brady. She was also one of the highest-paid models in the world and a staple of the Victoria's Secret Angels.

But what you may not have known about Gisele is that when she lived in Brazil, she wanted to be a professional volleyball player, and considered playing for the Brazilian team.

With those stems, she could have been a star. But then again, with those stems, she could have been a star in anything she ever wanted. I'm glad she chose the path of least clothing.

Highest Rank: 14 (2007)

No. 1: Salma Hayek—2001-2008

Rackmultipart

Salma Hayek is so multi-talented. She can turn us on in any role that she plays, but she also proved that she can make me laugh during her stint on 30 Rock. But I never knew that she was also an athlete.

She was an accomplished gymnast as a girl, and wanted to make the Olympics, but her father kept her from being recruited by the Mexican national team. That man deserves a medal. Those, I mean, that woman needed to be in the entertainment business.
