Shonn Greene, Stay Classy

Brennen SCorrespondent IJanuary 18, 2010

Before you read this and make comments, I will go ahead and admit: Yes, I am bitter. Yes, I am angry. And yes, the Chargers got outplayed yesterday.

However, the purpose of this article is not to express my feelings about the Chargers' underachievement. Instead I will be addressing the lack of class shown by rookie running back Shonn Greene.

I know, as a Chargers fan it is kind of hypocritical to talk about class seeing as my team displayed very little throughout the course of the game, but Greene's situation is different.

After scoring what ended up being the game-winning touchdown, Greene proceeded to mock LaDainian Tomlinson's "finger roll" celebration in the end zone.

Of all the things that frustrated me throughout yesterday's game, that is what angered me the most. Any respect I had for Greene as a player is now completely gone.

As a rookie running back making his first playoff appearance, who is Greene to mock one of the greatest running backs of all time? Shonn can only dream of measuring up to LaDainian Tomlinson. Greene should idolize LT for what he has done for football and the running back position, but instead he mocks him in front of a national audience on LT's home turf.

I can honestly say that I hope Mr. Greene's career goes down in flames and ends with nothing but mediocrity. He isn't worthy to breathe the same air as Tomlinson, and in the end we all will know who left the better legacy.

Enjoy your short-lived career, Shonn Greene. You will never even begin to sniff the Hall of Fame or measure up to LT.

Go Bolts! No. 21-Greatest Charger of all time!
