Not only were they the fourth seed, but they had a first year coach in Mike Batesole. This was the first time a first year coach won a College World Series since 1992.

No one thought they could beat No. 3 Arizona State in the super regionals, or No. 2 Rice in the next round or even North Carolina to get to the College World Series.

That's not the only records they broke. They team's batting average was .309 and that was the highest since 2000, when the Miami Hurricanes batted .314. Also, the series attendance of 330,099 is the highest total attendance in College World Series history. They were the lowest seed in any sport to win an NCAA championship. This was only the second championship for the Bulldogs from California.

Fresno State went 47-31 in the regular season, while Georgia was 47-25-1. The 31 losses by the Bulldogs are the most by any national baseball champ.

They also tied USC for the most runs in a College World Series with 62.

On the way to the Series they won six elimination games and beat No. 3 Arizona State, No. 6 Rice and No. 2 North Carolina.

They are called the " wonder-dogs" because they were such underdogs. Do you think this team is amazing? Do you think it is amazing how many records they broke? I do!
