Finally.

The Golden Eagles basketball team played in a blowout and more importantly a blowout victory, 93-63 over the Providence Friars. Marquette got some very nice performances and fans got a glimpse of just how good Darius Johnson-Odom can be.

Johnson Odom had 22 points, scoring 20 of them in the first half and Maurice Acker and Lazar Hayward also scored over 20 points.

The victory gets them back to just a game under .500 in the Big East at 2-3 and improves their record to 11-6.

Johnson-Odom was sensational, hitting big-time threes and making some nice drives to the rack.

They always say that JUCO players are much better in year two then in year one. If that is the case with DJO then I for one am really excited.

DJO is not just a shooter - although he is hitting over 50 percent from behind the arc - he is also a good finisher that shows an array of moves on his drives and is averaging double figures.

With the nice recruiting class coming in it is hard not to get excited for the future. But if he can keep up his stellar play, Johnson-Odom, Jimmy Butler and Hayward form a scary trio moving forward this season, as well.

Picked near the bottom of the Big East if MU can defeat DePaul and play .500 ball the rest of the way and just make the dance, that three-headed monster will make a formidable oppenent for any team in the tournament.
