The first main roster release of the year has come for the WWE. Eric Escobar has been released from his contract. A statement released on WWE.com said:

'WWE has come to terms on the release of Smackdown superstar Eric Escobar as of Jan. 17, 2010. WWE wishes Eric all the best in his future endeavors.'

This is no suprise as the last time we saw Eric Escobar he was getting squashed and embarrassed on Smackdown.

He never looked like main event potential and was believed to be cocky and arrogant back stage.
