Despite widespread media reports that his client has already signed a contract with a Czech club for next season, Martin Straka's agent denies any deal has been finalized.

In a story published by the Canadien Press, Straka's agent Ritch Winters claimed that while a contract has been offered, nothing has been signed.

"Marty has made it clear that he will wait until after July 1st to evaluate all his options and make an informed decision at that time," said Winter.

This runs contrary to reports out of the Czech Republic and from HC Lasselsberger Plzen Team President Tomas Kral, who claims a deal is already done.

  1. My source, Blue Shirt bulletin, reported that the deal has already been finalized.

    1. I read it there too.

  2. I wouldn't doubt it if it happened. It just seems like Straka's agent is denying it in the press. A couple of other outlets in Canada have picked up the denial as well. We'll see what happens.

  3. The New York Daily News is now reporting that the Rangers have heard nothing from Straka about an impending departure to the Czech Republic. That doesn't necessarily mean anything but just adds some more intrigue to this story.
