The Chicago Bears have a QB competition already with Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton, but behind those two oridinary QBs, there isn't much in Chicago.

They could go after veteran QB Daunte Culpepper and make this QB race even more interesting. The only negative is that Daunte has been plagued by injuries ever since he left Minnesota. Also, he turned down a one year, $1 million offer from the Green Bay Packers last week. So, he won't come cheap.

I can't see Jerry Angelo going after Daunte, but it would be a good investment for the team. Even if he did not get that much playing time, he could come in and help Rex and Kyle. He is a veteran who has a lot of knowledge of the game.

  1. I don't see any harm in bringing him in during training camp. If anything, he could at least draw a crowd. And if all the stars aligned and he somehow suddenly began firing bullets and running all over the place, the Bears would look like genius'...

  2. Yeah, but Chicago is known for being pretty tight. They'll spend money at home first (on Hester hopefully) before bringing anyone in.

  3. But with weapons like Hester and anything they have in mind to meet the offensive challenge, they need to get the ball there. Kyle seems to make less mistakes. G'Man (Rex) is THE most accurate Q.B. i've seen in a long time, if he's comfortable, but Daunte really makes sense for a lot of reasons.
