The Georgia Bulldogs Hire a New Defensive Coordinator

Luis VazquezContributor IApril 3, 2017

This morning the University of Georgia hired new defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham from the Dallas Cowboys. Grantham was the defensive line coach for the Cowboys for the past 2 seasons. He will continue to serve in current position with the Cowboys throughout their playoff run and will join the Bulldogs after the season is over. He also has prior NFL experience with Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, and the Indianapolis Colts. His college experience was with Michigan State and Virginia Tech throughout the 90's.

Grantham has signed a 3-year contract worth $2.25mil to become the successor to Willie Martinez. And in typical Georgia fashion, they wouldn't let Georgia Tech stay ahead of the Defensive Coordinator hunt for long. Georgia Tech also hired a defensive coordinator today, Al Groh, the former head coach from Virginia. He will move to Athens, Georgia when the Dallas Cowboys finish their playoff run.
