The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be placing both kicking and punting responsibilities on rookie Alexis Serna this Friday night against the Toronto Argonauts at the Canad Inns Stadium after starting punter Duncan O'Mahony was injured in a quite comical incident on Sunday night.

Duncan O'Mahony awoke from his sleep late Sunday night, and needed to relieve himself. However, on his way to the bathroom, O'Mahony stubbed his toe, breaking it, and sidelining him for at least one game.

O'Mahony will sit out Friday's game against Toronto in hopes that the swelling of his foot and toe dies down. The toe and foot will be looked at next week, and a doctor will determine if O'Mahony is able to play on July 4th against the Montreal Alouettes, the Bombers next game.

Meanwhile, Alexis Serna will have alot of pressure on his back as he handles the special team responsibilities this weekend. Berry has reassured that this is not a permanent replacement, but is interested in seeing how Serna handles the pressure.

“It’s not a definite. I’m not going to come in here and say ‘Wow, he’s the best punter in the league.’ That’s not the point. The point is he’s our field-goal kicker that I think can help us punting and maybe ... do both.”

Bombers fans will have to hope that all goes well against the Argos on Friday night, and Serna doesn't break under the pressure. The game is set to start at 7 pm Central at the Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
