Giants News and Notes for June 25, 2008
  • Barry Zito starts tonight for the Giants against the Indians. Look for him to have a decent outing and maybe get a win.
  • Giants designated Vinnie Chulk for assignment. To take Chulk's place in the bullpen, the Giants purchased the contract of Sergio Romo from Double-A Connecticut. They should have sent Billy Sadler back to the minors instead. Sadler is terrible and has cost the Giants many games with his wildness.
  • Omar Vizquel received a heroes welcome last night in Cleveland. If you think he is great at shortstop with the Giants, you should have seen him with the Indians when he was in his prime. He is amazing.
  • Aaron Rowand is not deserving of an All-Star vote. His average has dipped throughout the course of the season and he never gets the key hit with runners in scoring position regularly.
  • The Giants return home to face the Cubs and Dodgers after their weekend series this week across the bay in Oakland.
  •  Bruce Bochy should be fired and the Giants should hire Willie Randolph but that won't happen.
  • If  the Giants did not have Zito, they would be in first place right now in the NL West.
  • This team should play Travis Denker more often. He looks like he can hit.
