Philippe Senderos for Louis Saha: A Wise Deal for Arsenal and Everton?
Clive Mason/Getty Images
Philippe Senderos declared he is eager to leave Arsenal after the Swiss's failure to receive a regular football spot with the Gunners.
The imposing Swiss has appeared once this season—in a League Cup match. Senderos was absent in Arsenal 2008/2009 campaign due to a loan spell with Italian giants AC Milan. Since the arrival of Belgium Thomas Vermaelen, the Swiss international has been unable to find any playing time in Arsenal's starting center half roles.
Now the 25-year-old is keen to depart Arsenal and find a new Premier League club. Everton manager David Moyes has already expressed interest in the former Servette defender and rumour has it that the Merseyside club may make a bid for Senderos.
But with Arsenal in desperate need of a strong striker, thanks to injuries to Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner, Arsene Wenger could try to organise a trade deal. Wenger has already expressed great interest in Everton's top scorer, Louis Saha.
Saha is reportedly unhappy with his current financial agreement with Everton and with the big Frenchman off contract next summer, Moyes may be forced to sell the former United forward.
The 31-year-old does have a woeful record with injuries but currently the former Fulham striker is in good form and could benefit from a short term deal at Arsenal.
Everton needs a defender Arsenal need a striker. It's simple.
