Green Bay Packers

Cardinals Oust Packers On Potential Face Masquerade?

Seldom does the game of inches come down to a single play.  But after a 45-45 tie at the end of regulation, a blown call may have changed the outcome.  On what turned out to be the final play of the game an Aaron Rodgers fumble was returned for a TD giving the Cardinals a 51-45 win.

The game was an offensive thriller for sure.  It featured over 800 yards of passing and resulted in the highest scoring post season game in NFL history.  It was a true aerial onslaught and one that will be remembered for years to come.

Green Bay was in great shape when they won the coin toss in overtime.  After surrendering 90 combined points in regulation, neither defense had proven to be "master of their domain."  Fact is, I've seen elementary kids exhibit greater intensity after missing out on the last chocolate milk at lunch.

In a twist of fate a defensive play won the game as Karlos Dasby returned an Aaron Rodgers fumble for the game winning score. Cornerback Michael Adams made the hit that forced the fumble but photos reveal there may have been nothing OK with this corral.  A face mask was missed by yet another ref who apparently graduated from the Helen Keller school of officiating.

It would be disingenuous to blame an entire game on one missed call.  Bad calls and no calls go both ways in professional football and always will.  But one has to wonder what might have been had a flag been thrown which would have resulted in a 1st and 10.
