This basketball season there have been so many very good players, that really have taken their team to a whole new level. Even though the season is only about half way over I decided to write an article of who I am going to place on my All-American first team. I took in to consideration all of the possible player's but overall I believe the first team is pretty well set.
I really considered John Wall here, but to be honest it has to be Collins. Collins leads his team in assists and is a number one scoring option when he is on the floor. Collins is the heart and soul of his team and is the face of his team as well. the starting point guard spot really has to go to Collins, take nothing away from Wall though, he has been phenomenal, but leading my team into the tournament I would rather have Collins any day than Wall.
This was the hardest selection for me, because there are just so many guards in the nation. Yet when push came to shove Dyson is the best 2 guard in the country. He leads his team in scoring and UConn is one of the best teams in the country. Dyson has come back form his knee surgery better than anyone could have ever expected. Dyson has been a leader for younger players like Kemba Walker, Alex Orakhi and Ater Majok. He averages 19.9 points a game, and I don't believe anyone can really make a strong argument against him.
Hands down the easiest pick I had to make. Wesley Johnson has come in and become and absolute best for the Syracuse Orange, leading a team that was supposedly "rebuilding" in scoring and leading them to a 14-1 start. He is the leader of this team and he is an elite level talent. I really don't believe anything more needs to be said.
Once again another difficult pick, between Harangofy and Patterson for Kentucky. Both players are very dominating, and are the leaders on their respected winning teams. The final verdict came down to the stats. Harangody really won the stat battle and I believe he is the best player in the country. Once again I don't think anyone will have a problem with Harangody on this team.
This was a really easy pick for me. I really believe there is a lack of true centers in college basketball and Aldrich is one of the them. He is the key big man for his team and without him I believe Kansas wouldn't be undefeated at this point. Aldrich is a tough defender and a decent scoring option, he is an all around good weapon for Kansas to use.
I had to add him somewhere. Wall is just having to good of a season to not have him somewhere on the first team. I can't justify replacing another player on the first team with Wall.
