Wrestler Bryan Danielson Headed to Developmental

Steven RansiearCorrespondent IJanuary 8, 2010

-UPDATE: Danielson himself requested the trip to developmental to work off ring rust.

At last night's Florida Championship Wrestling (WWE's developmental territory) event, it was announced that Bryan Danielson would be debuting for the company at next week's TV taping.

This goes against multiple reports that Danielson would skip developmental and go straight to either RAW, Smackdown, or ECW.

Danielson worked a dark match against Chavo Guerrero before the Jan. 4 RAW. Many felt this would be the final step before seeing Danielson on WWE television.

Unfortunately for fans of Danielson, this may mean that we don't see Danielson for some time. Many independent stars have gone through WWE's developmental system, only to be released before they make it to the main roster.

Danielson finished his independent commitments in September with ROH and other companies. Since then, Danielson has been in Las Vegas training at Xtreme Couture, adding more MMA influence to his wrestling style.

More details will hopefully come following Danielson's debut for FCW, but at this time nothing else is available concerning his role in the WWE.
