Ok Raider nation, here is my first mock draft, I will follow it up with an alternate draft where Taylor Mays is selected in the first round, since Al Davis will be tempted by taking him. Anyhow tell me what you guys think?, our most glaring need is on O-line on our right side where aging guard Carlise and Cornell Green is simply aged and should be a back up at most, therefore, an emphasis is placed on O-line. After all (I know many of you have thrown the towel in already on Jamarcus Russell) but the truth is we have a makeshift 0-line, and until we get top tier lines, we aren't going to be a power running team, and power run stopping team. I am a firm believer that war is won in the trenches, and defense wins championships, and speed kills, those three values are the core elements of a super-bowl caliber team. Remember Gene Upshaw, Art Shell, and the rest, think about it, they opened up holes for our backs, and gave our QB time to scan and throw. Anyhow, enjoy and let me know what you guys think about this mock draft.
First round pick; OT; Trent Williams ; Oklahoma
This guy is a big mauler, standing 6' 5ft., 318 pounds, and a good pass protector as well, as added value, this guy has experience playing both tackle positions, therefore that is a bonus for us, instant starter plug right in at Cornell Greens spot, or if he beats out Super Mario then move Mario over to RT. The best overall OT is Russell Okung from Oklahoma State overall, however in the run game, (since we got a trio of backs we need the power run game to open up otherwise these backs are not being productive for us) slight edge goes to Williams and added versatility.
2nd round pick; DE; Brandon Graham
6' ft 2', 270 pounds of madness, a relentless pitbull, who is very aggressive and stout against the run, a bull rusher with speed. I was looking at Eversen Griffen from USC whom I like too, but Brandon Graham seems a bit better against the run. Another option is Jerry Hughes from TCU who has a monster speed rush and holds his ground at the point of attack in against the run.
We have two 3rd round picks; Micah Johnson
Three words; Big Bad Bruiser, in the middle, c'mon how many are with me?, we need muscle that makes backs and tight ends pay, this guy is 6'ft 2, and a whopping load at 258 pounds of pure hell. We can then move Kirk Morrison over to strong side linebacker. Another option is Darrly Washington out of TCU at 6ft 3', 235, with great speed, your pick, Washington is faster but Johnson is a load you can't deny.
2nd 3rd round pick; Tyson Alualu
A Very tough Samoan DT, he is a monster!!! Very good footwork, lateral movement; 6ft; 3' 295 pounds, holds the point of attack very well, gets up field quickly, doesn't give up ground, plays with great leverage, good run stuffer and pass rusher, not sure he will be there in the third round, may go in second round, if we get this guy, believe me our run defense will be way better, this guy is really tough and gets after you big time, a high non stop motor with power. He would be a steal in the third round, his name is not as known obviously as others but believe me scouts are keeping him out of the air as much as possible because they want to snag them up for their team, keep an eye on this kid, he will be playing in the Senior Bowl on NFL network, he will move up the draft board.
4th Round Pick;LB; Navorro Bowman
Ok, some of you may be wondering another linebacker, we need a corner back, we are thin at CB, and your right, however, we also lack depth at linebacker, look at our roster and you will see what I am saying, and this kid is a true linebacker, excellent in run support and good coverage skills. This kid flat out is a savage, when you can take on an OT and still stuff the run, you can be on my team any time, check out this clip; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mZSTeD9Qvc
6th Round pick; CB; A.J. Wallace Penn State.
Ok, here is a great value pick, this kid has 4.4 speed, great size, 6ft; 198 pounds, and appears to have the intangibles as well, great attitude, very aggressive in run support and as added value returns kick off and punts; this would solve our corner back depth issue. Check out this profile on him;

A steal in my opinion for a 6th round pick!!!
we don't have a 5th round, 7th round pick, OG Sergio Render Virgina Tech
Here is another good value pick which would give us depth at our O line guard position where he could start since Cooper Carlisle will be 33 years old, this kid has good size at 6ft 3, 308 pounds, very physical strong blocker.http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=68066&draftyear=2010&genpos=OG
he had shoulder surgery, but will be ready to go, that could actually help us land him, think Michael Bush.... he slipped down in the draft because of an injury.
I Hope you enjoyed this Oakland Raiders 2010 mock draft 1.0
Remember defense wins championships!!!, Jamarcus played better, if we build our line, then he gets a bit more time, he made good throws in the last game of the season, minus the turnover fumble, on the pick his arm was hit you can argue, but a large part of his development is providing him a good line to allow him adequate time to make them deep throws, nonetheless, the war is won in the trenches.!!! Speed Kills!!! Defense wins Championships!!!!
