NBA, Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Breaking News

video has emerged from TMZ.com of Shaquille O'neal trashing Kobe Bryant in a freestyle rap that took place at a club on Sunday night.

The rap itself is hilarious, no one can doubt that. Even Kobe, when he's all alone sitting on the john, will think, "Man that Shaq, he's pretty funny."

OK. Maybe not.

During the rap, Shaq sounds pretty serious. But, he's freestyling. This giant of a man who plays basketball is serious when he freestyles...seriously.

"You know how I be," Shaq rapped. "Last week Kobe couldn't do without me."

Shaq not only addressed Kobe's recent loss, but the comments Kobe made when he lashed out at O'Neal during Bryant's rape case.

"I'm a horse. Kobe ratted me out," he rapped. "That's why I'm getting divorced. He said Shaq gave a [woman] a mil. I don't do that 'cause my name's Shaquille. I love 'em, I don't leave 'em. I got a vasectomy, now I can't breed 'em."

Shaq also asks Kobe "how his ass tastes," presumably after he kissed it recently.

Steven A. Smith was able to reach Shaq for comment, who immediately apologized, lest he incur the wrath of a story hungry media.

"I was freestyling. That's all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what MC's do. They freestyle when called upon. I'm totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don't forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I'm a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was rapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don't make something out of nothing."

O'Neal is a joker to the end. Perhaps the funniest part of the whole Shaq Kobe saga is that he keeps trying to convince everyone that he doesn't mean anything by his comments. That he's just a jokester.

And you know what? We all believe him.

This is Shaq's biggest joke of all.

"Everyone that knows Shaq knows two things about me: one, that I'm a rapper, and two, that I'm a comedian. When I played with Kobe, me, him, Brian Shaw, J.R. Rider, we had freestyle sessions all the time...all in fun, and we said crazier stuff than that. If I hurt anyone's feelings, I apologize."

  1. The video is priceless. Please check out the whole thing. The real version is way better than ESPN"S edit.

There's lots of other funny stuff in there besides what's about kobe.

"Diddy lives next to me." well not me....shaq...ah you get the idea

    Shaq is one funny/serious/imnotreallysurewhathestalkingabout mofo.

  2. I believe Shaq when he says that he was just having some fun and his rhymes shouldn't be taken seriously. I don't think that he genuinely thinks he's a better ball player than Kareem or that Kobe's responsible for his divorce. He just knew that it would sound funny and take the attention away from his 1st round playoff exit while Kobe took his team to the NBA finals this year. I'm a big fan of Shaq's and think that in his prime he was the most dominant player in the game but I honestly think he should retire sooner rather than later.

    1. Yeah I think he was probably messing around also. But watching the video there are points when he really is freestyling. Then he kind of interjects the kobe stuff, almost like its planned.

      Maybe Im crazy.

  3. ya i think he just wanted to get the crowd into it. he might of been a little buzzed to.

    1. True. Shaq was probably wrecked.

What do you think Shaq drinks?

Is he a Henessey man? Maybe Gin and tonic, its hot in phoenix.

If he were still in Miami id say Mojito.

Arizona has to be tequila. And if shaq does tequila i feel like he shoots it like David Carradine in Kill Bill.

  4. Good article! By the way, your piece made it to Foxsports.com
