A glimpse into the Tiger Wood's fiasco shows just how much women can come into the lives of professional athletes. As long as there are beautiful women, we can expect them to be both seen and heard from.

NHL players have so far been lucky enough to stay out of the mainstream media's eye site. But it is impossible to project how long the NHL will keep their wholesome "aww shucks" image. There are more than a few models, playmates, and actresses that love the idea of dating "bad boy" hockey players.

Actresses like Hillary Duff and celebrities like Paris Hilton are just a few who have been seen dating hockey players.

Some players such as former Pittsburgh Penguin superstar Jaromir Jagr have dated several high profile models.

Carol Alt has been married to Former Ranger defenceman Ron Greschner and is now in a long term relationship with former NHLer Alexi Yashin.
Another former New York Ranger ,Ron Duguay , is married to supermodel Kim Alexis.

The list is larger than many would think.

There are several other players who are dating actresses and playmates but the group selected for this article were the most compelling. Lets have a look at the 10 women who make the NHL even more interesting.

Angelica Bridges and Sheldon Sourey

Sheldon Souray is known for his blistering slapshot and his solid play on the blueline. Some are not aware that Souray has had a interesting personal life first dating and then marrying model Angelica Bridges.

Bridges met Souray in 1997, the same year that she started saving lives as Lt. Taylor Walsh on the Baywatch TV series.

She married Souray in 2002. They briefly separated in 2006, but managed to reconcile their differences and had a second child together the following year.
Like most Baywatch lifeguards, Angelica posed nude for Playboy (November of 2001).

According to her MySpace page, she is currently the lead singer for a group called Strawberry Blonde. They separated and divorced again in 2007.

In 2006–07, Souray emerged as a top-tier defenceman in the league with 26 goals and 64 points, placing second in team-scoring in both categories. On April 5, 2007, Souray broke the NHL single-season record for most powerplay goals scored by a defenceman, with his 19th of the season. The record was previously shared by Denis Potvin of the New York Islanders (1974–75) and Adrian Aucoin of the Vancouver Canucks.

Jarrett Stoll and Rachel Hunter

Playing for the much improved LA Kings has brought Jarrett Stoll additional notoriety for his hustle and intensity. The Kings are playing good hockey and Stoll is a contributor.

Since LA is Hockeywood you are liable to see just about anyone in the stands including celebrities. Rachel Hunter has often been spotted watching her boyfriend at Kings games.

As a top model, the beautiful Hunter draws a lot of attention every where she goes but especially at hockey games. Rachel Hunter is Jarret Stoll’s girlfriend. Rachel also dated (and was possibly engaged to) Sean Avery.

Rachel Hunter is most famous for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She made her debut in the annual in 1989, and in 2004 was paid $1.8 million to pose nude for Playboy.

Her appearance on Howard Stern was a public relations nightmare. She has also behaved strangely on a number of television and radio shows, as she sometimes makes a habit of skipping out on scheduled appearances.

Hunter was a contestant on the popular Dancing with the Stars in 2005, but fell short of making the finals. Hockeywood is the perfect name in LA.

Melanie Collins and Scott Upshall

Some would describe Scott Upshall of having a up and down career in the NHL, but they cannot make the same claim about his dating success. Melanie Collins has been dating the Flyers player since at least February of 2009.

Melanie is a former bikini model turned NBA sideline reporter for NBA TV. The NBA surely has dreams of turning her into the next Erin Andrews, but so far things are going less than ideally. Shortly after landing the gig, she got herself into some trouble when pictures surfaced of her nearly licking the butt crack of another woman.

Hillary Duff and Mike Comrie

Hilary and Comrie have been dating since 2007.

Hilary first broke onto the entertainment scene when she played the title role on Disney’s Lizzie McGuire, and she went on to make mostly kid friendly movies like Agent Cody Banks and Cheaper by the Dozen. The papparaza has been unmerciful photographing Hillary and Mike at every turn.

In the world of hockey, Comrie has received unwanted attention for his off ice exploits more than for his on ice contributions.

Jaromir Jagr’s and Inna Puhajkova

Jaromir Jagr has been rumored to be dating several playmates and celebrities. Jagr has also been linked with Andrea Veresova. Whatever the case, there is no denying that Jagr was one of the most electrifying and talented hockey players in the NHL during his tenure.

After leaving Pittsburgh and landing in New York with the Rangers, Jagr soon retired from the NHL scene. Jagr is said to spend most of his time travelling these days and has been selected to represent thr Czech Republic in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Mike Modano and Willa Ford

MIke Modano has won a Stanley Cup, has scored over 500 career goals and 1000 points and will likely work for the Dallas Stars organization after his retirement. Not too many will deny that Modano's knack for scoring big is not limited to his on ice exploits.

His wife Willa Ford has experienced modest success as a pop singer, but she currently may be best known for her participation on Dancing with the Stars in 2006.

Ford posed nude for the March 2006 issue of Playboy with Jessica Alba on the cover.

According to several sources, they were married in a small town in Texas and continue to enjoy their celebrity.

Elisha Cuthbert and Sean Avery:

Sean Avery plays in the top media market in the world the New York Rangers. His fiery personality on ice combined with rugged good looks has landed him in GQ magazine.

Elisha Cuthbert, also a well known model, has moved Avery’s brand even closer to the bright light of Broadway.

Avery is not the first Ranger to date high profile models. Ron Greschner and Carol Alt dated. Alt is currently said to be dating Alexi Yashin and former Ranger Ron Duguay married Kim Alexis. Elisha was Sean Avery’s girlfriend for the better part of two years until they broke up in August of 2007.

Anna Kournikova and Sergei Fedorov

During his career with the Detroit Red Wings, Sergei Fedorov's performance helped his team win Stanley Cups and achieve the title of Team of the Decade. Federov went on to play for Washington and took a leave from NHL play to compete in his home country. He will play for Team Russia inthe Winter Olympics.

Fedorov has been rumored to date quite a few models. He has been often linked to Anna Kournikova.
As a tennis player, Anna never really lived up to the hype. When she was 14, she won the under 18 Junior World Championship, and the following year she made it to the 4th round of the US Open.

Kelly Carlson is Tie Domi’s girlfriend. Kelly and Tie have been dating since February of 2008.Kelly Carlson is best known for her role as Kimber Henry on F/X’s Nip/Tuck. She has also done modeling work for Miller Lite and Rembrandt.

Henrik Zetterberg and Emma Andersson
