I'm Glad to Return to the B/R Wrestling Community; it has been a long time and I'm glad to be back.
Vince McMahon has made some choices that we have liked and some that have made us shake our heads in disappointment, but this is a year that Vince will make us never forget and it all starts on the first Raw of 2010.
The WWE has had one hell of a decade as the new millennium got underway and nearly ten years later, the WWE looks to rewind the clock a bit and bring us into a new decade and New Year.
We have witnessed some of the greatest, saddest, craziest, and most horrific and moments. We have seen some of the greatest and worst matches in history and some that captured you in the moment.
The WWE looks to keep that moment going and see what new stars will come in as the legends of today are out for the last stretch.
The WWE is coming into something that could be a magical year for the WWE and wrestling in general.
The Royal Rumble can be a career changer, and it will be for one man this year.
There is has been a theme to the Royal Rumble with the winners, and it’s wither building stars or rejuvenating old ones.
Royal Rumble Winners:
Big John Studd
Bret Hart/Lex Luger
The WWE has always went a way there: build on a superstar or add to a legacy and I think we will see a star shine bright in the Royal Rumble.
The Royal Rumble will see its fair share of surprises and Cinderella stories going into it, but it will be a star in the making who will shine that night unless a Ultimate Opportunist decides to show up at the right time.
It will be something that should kick this new year into a frenzy and something to talk about all year.
The last time we saw Bret Hart in a WWE ring was the long November night in his hometown in 1997.
Bret Hart has signed a contract with the WWE and will most likely make his return on the first Raw in 2010.
We all know that a Hart & McMahon storyline is upon us and is still something we all want to see and as a fan of Bret Hart, it will be great to see him grace a WWE ring once again.
A feud that has been building for over a decade will be something we all keep our eye on.
Shawn Michaels said "There are good things to come;" let's hope so.
This could be just one of many surprises are up to going into 2010.
The Monday Night Wars part two is upon us, going into 2010 it is something that could change the face of wrestling or it could be the same story different company.
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff will get a second chance and going after WWE and Vince McMahon.
All eyes will be on the wrestling world Jan. 4, 2010 as we will have WWE Raw and TNA Impact on the same night as we will see either of two men in a battle like never before to help that company win the first battle. Hogan vs. Hart.
Hogan for TNA and Hart for WWE, it will be something to see as all eyes will be two men that have changed the business in a major way.
The question going in for TNA is, Have they learned from WCW mistakes or better yet as Hogan and Bischoff learned from WCW?
The WWE is locked and loaded for another attempt at being taken out, but Vince might have a few tricks up his sleeve.
The return of one man that has electrified crowds, won countless World Champion’s and beaten everyone that has been put in front of him, the man that I am talking about his one man, The Rock.
Rumors have been swirling that The Rock is coming back, but in what way?
Is he going to be a guest host, is he going to compete or is going to be both.
Everyone in the wrestling world wants to see Rock vs. Cena and there is a good chance it might just happen.
No matter what I can guarantee a comeback, return for one night only or an appearance of some sort.
The facts are there to prove to since The Rock stop wrestling full-time.
2004: Rock Returns to wrestle at WrestleMania XX with Mick Foley against Evolution (Orton, Batista and Flair).
2007: Rock Returns to talk about who will get their head shaved at WrestleMania 23 between Trump and McMahon.
2008: WWE Hall of Fame to inducte his father and grand father and at SmackDown's 10-year anniversary.
With the return of The Rock, WrestleMania possible could be the greatest of all time.
With ECW getting old and SmackDown looking to change things, it looks like it is time to shake things up a bit, as Vince McMahon likes to say.
ECW is all but dead, The Land of the so-called Extreme has now died with Tommy Dreamer gone.
Dreamer made it feel like ECW to a certain extent even though it has not been the same since it started really, but having him there was knowing ECW because he was around.
With Dreamer now gone with all of the other originals, it is now time to change the appearance and the name to make it a show that we can get into.
Instead of calling ECW “Extreme Championship Wrestling” when there isn’t a hint of Extreme anywhere to be found.
A name change is in store along with everything else; I think it’s time to make it an official minor league show and let the up-and-comers shine into the spotlight.
SmackDown on the other hand is a great wrestling show, but there is something that makes it feel really plain. I’m not saying it’s not a good show, it is a great one, but there is that It factor that is missing that we see with Raw every week.
SmackDown needs to change things up, first we should change the captain and find a new general manger, because even though I like Teddy Long it is time for a new GM to take control of a slowly sinking ship and rejuvenate it with a dose of excitement and aw.
Next we can change the color, maybe the logo a little bit, we have seen Raw do this and it is part of what it keep us interested.
See it like this, a football team for example has there team and color but there is one thing that attracts up sometimes, a Stadium.
That stadium makes that team unique because you know who they are like for example we all know the Louisiana Superdome, because of the atmosphere and the fans.
ECW was all about Extreme and that was the fan base back in those days people did crazy things.
SmackDown to me doesn’t have to change the roster, but need’s to fix what is around them and needs to change its appearance to make that show unique.
I see a lot of exciting changes coming up for these two shows to put these two brands in their own level of excitement.
Talks about the Rock and Hart have me extremely excited about the return of Edge.
He has become one of my favorite wrestlers over the decade and has proven how great he really is, he is the one constant heel who has worked no matter what for the better part of the decade.
Like Piper, things seem to change over the years, and that is what is happening with Edge. Before his injury, you heard the cheers come in packs.
We can all remember the Edge Sucks signs, well I think we can say that is changing also, because he is so unique that you can like him for who he is and not what side he is on.
I remember the Edge that I liked a lot when it was 2004, Edge was at his peak of being so great and look what became of it.
Edge is coming back and coming back after Jericho, a match that we have waited for so long is finally going to happen, but when, WrestleMania 26?
We all want this match to happen on the biggest stage of the all, but will it happen and will there be other people involved like Big Show or Christian?
I think that this could be great for Edge’s return turning him into a full-on babyface and making him grow into a league of his own.
Edge is looking to build on his legacy when he comes back and him coming back opens up a lot of potential rivalries for Edge and it will be interesting to see.
I can say one thing about Edge. He is going to be a World Champion once again, and I can’t wait until it happens.
With a new decade comes change, and I think this is one key thing we will see going into the new year and new decade.
The superstars like Ted Jr., Rhodes, Hart Dynasty, Bourne, Swagger, Kingston and so many others are coming into their own going into 2010 and this will be constant thing going on from here and it good change and pace for the WWE.
I am looking forward to the day that these young stars of tomorrow become World Champion and build their own legacy without having to worry about sharing the spotlight with the veterans as they will soon ride into the sunset.
One key guy that I am keeping my eye on is Ted Jr., because he has so much potential to become one of the greatest World Champions of all time, another that I am growing to like is Dolph Ziggler.
Dolph has always had a look for success and he came in hot, but has since cooled off but he is still on the right track to become one of the fast growing stars in the WWE in 2010.
The new look for the WWE will take action in 2010 and we will see a lot of great young rivalry’s grow into the potential of some of the great like Rock vs. Austin and so many more. I also see new young World Champions as soon as WrestleMania.
As WrestleMania passes, I hope to see a show that has had different personalities every week stay with one and finally announce a GM to Monday Night Raw.
The guest host has brought us great memories, but I think its time to get back to what made the show unique and have a GM put into place and see him evolve a show to a new level.
Raw has got plain lately because the personality of the guest host, some good and some horrible.
The GM who comes in and takes charge will have to be different from the others in the past and bring the show something new to the table.
I think it’s time to bring in a legend that knows the business inside and out, someone that thinks outside of the box and someone that is relevant with the times.
Someone that comes to mind is Mike Adamle.
Seriously. OK. Just Kidding.
Someone that really comes to mind is Rowdy Roddy Piper.
He is someone that I have been wishing for as the Raw General Manger, he brings a different attitude to the table and someone that is very enjoyable to everyone around us.
Whoever the WWE decides on after the Guest Host Phase hopefully picks the right one.
The way this PG Era is going we could be seeing this as the main event at WrestleMania 26. The WWE has taken away everything that is unique about the WWE and is losing its swagger in the process.
The WWE this year is slowly in waves going back to people or ways that made them so great and gave them that edge in the Attitude Era.
I think that the WWE will be on the right track and go back to what made it great and do what’s good for the company, the fans and not the kids.
I feel that the WWE wants to be great again but want to be safe in the process and make sure kids are going in the right track even if they are watching “scripted violence.”
The WWE will realize this was unnecessary phase they had to go through for the better of the kids and took some damage to their image but will bounce back in time and in 2010, it will be a great start getting back to where they once were.
But if this keeps going the way it’s going we could honestly see Cena in a Superman outfit facing Count Dracula for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 27. What a sight we don’t want to see.
WrestleMania 26 is simply has the potential to be the greatest of all time or in the same league as it.
Rock vs. Cena?
Hart vs. McMahon?
Kofi Kingston Money In The Bank?
Edge vs. Jericho?
Triple H vs. Anyone?
Michaels vs. Taker?
Orton vs. DiBiase?
This year’s WrestleMania can be one of the greatest on paper if most of it happens. It also has the potential to fail big time.
I think Vince McMahon had a lot in store for WrestleMania 26 when WrestleMania 25 didn’t go the way it wanted for him financially.
I see WrestleMania throwing surprises and celebrities involvement make it good, but with a few old faces thrown it, can you say WOW.
I can’t wait to see what the WWE has in store for us at WrestleMania 26.
