Marian Hossa, Boston Bruins Mutually Interested

Greg CaggianoSenior Writer IJune 23, 2008

Before today, all the talk about Hossa moving to Beantown was just that, talk. But right now, I have learned that the Boston Bruins are the top contender for Hossa to end up.

There is both a higher chance of him coming to Boston then both Detroit, or him staying in Pittsburgh.

The Bruins are expected to offer Hossa a four-year deal at $8 million per season come July 1, the day that free agency in the NHL begins.

Another source has indicated that Hossa will hear offers from the Bruins before any other team. Also, that he has shown the interest in wanting to join fellow Slovakian superstar and good friend, Zdeno Chara.

Now we know why Pittsburgh didn't trade Malkin, it all makes sense now. Hopefully, one of my rumors will turn out to be correct and this one has the best shot!
