Should The Raptors Trade Calderon?

Clutch Time SportsJan 2, 2010

The Raptors have won 5 games in a row, and 9 of 13 with Jarret Jack playing the PG spot and Calderon out(maybe 8 of 12, I know Calderon was injured early in the game he was hurt). Now obviously Calderon is a very good PG, and he's shown that to us in recent years, but he's also shown us that he's not exactly clutch or a good defender.

I'm just curious, as I've watched about half the games probably, plus I just watch a lot of ball.........this Raptors team just seems to run better with a PG that is EXACTLY like Jack.....a combo guard to play off of Turkoglu, and also is a very feisty player and defender. I mean the numbers don't lie............

The raptors seem to be flowing way better than they have all season, and Jarret Jack is a big part of that.

So Raptors fans........and all fans..........is Jose Calderon a better fit for this Toronto team?

Jarret Jack is averaging around(estimate) 14ppg, 6apg, 4rpg, 2spg, while starting at PG for the Raptors as they have basically climbed back into the playoff race the past month.....

I am personally a Jose Calderon fan, and I think people just go overboard on his "bad defense", but this is making me second guess it all. Opponents PG's are scoring less points against Toronto......you can't deny that(except Felton the other night).

Jack has also held Chris Paul, Rodney Stuckey, Devin Harris, etc, all to 10 points or less................ Now they are still getting their assists of course, but do you think that the results would be the same with Jose Calderon playing 36 minutes at the PG spot?

I'm just curious...........I almost see this as a chance for Toronto to trade Calderon and see if they can get something remarkable in return. But then again, Jack is a great fit because Hedo plays the point-forward spot at SF, and he's probably got 2-3 years left in the tank.........though I tend to think that he will be fine for 4-5 years because of the slow manner in which he plays the game, purely on intelligence/length/etc, and has nothing to do with athletic ability.
