NEW ORLEANS, La. (Jan. 1, 2010) - It was never close, not a lot of drama, other than Tim Tebow's legendary career ending at Florida with a crushing victory and Urban Meyer hoisting the trophy after a 51-24 win over Cincinnati.
Since it was never in doubt, I will be brief.
Tebow threw for 482 yards and a trio of touchdowns, and rushed for 51 yards and a TD on the ground. His 533 yards of offense was a BCS record as well. Why not end a historic career with a historic performance.
He tearfully, but happily left the game with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth and hugs were all around the Florida sideline.
It was a beating, and the Bearcats, the Big East Champs, were no match for the Gators after the debacle of losing their coach to Notre Dame last month.
