We all know how the offseason's going to play out for the Raiders. Hire new coach, get some old guy in free-agency, get a crappy 1st round pick, yadda yadda yadda. I have an idea for Al Davis and the coaching problem. It's clear Tom Cable is a lousy play-caller. Davis should demote Cable to an assistant coach status, or back to his old O-Line coach position. Have Davis not be a tight-wad and try to cheap us out on a crappy coach. Submit an irrefusable offer to Jon Gruden. Gruden will be even better than last time because of the talent, and our main QB, Bruce Gradkowski, was one of his QB's in Tampa Bay. We should also consider bringing back Jeff Garcia, a veteran QB to help out Gradkowski and be a safe-bet as back-up. Now i know thats why he wanted out, but i can see why, he was a back-up to JaMarcus Russell. JaMarcus is probably going to be out. So with Gruden, Garcia, and Gradkowski all in the same offensive unit, they'll have great chemistry with eachother. Plus, our O-Line worked better with Cable working with them, so we'll have better protection next year. And let's face it, our DT's are old, and suck now. Kelly, he's now starting to slow down. Ellis, Seymour, Shaughnessy, Scott, and Richardson are definite keepers. Draft a DT early. Or in free-agency get a young OL, young DT, and a semi-veteran OL, to help Cable out with the youngsters. If Davis follows this advice, Oakland will soon once again be the team to beat in the NFL. There will soon be another trophy to add to that picture above.
