David Villa recently stated he was keen to stay at Valencia. However, it appears now that David Villa will be eager to quit Valencia if they want to sell him.

David Villa admits he would consider leaving Valencia, if the Primera Liga side agreed to sell him.

The Spaniard has become one of the most wanted strikers in Europe following his goalscoring exploits at Euro 2008, and Chelsea, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Barcelona are all thought to be considering summer bids.

And, with Valencia rumoured to be keen to raise funds to rebuild their squad following a disappointing 2007/08 campaign, it could be possible that the Mestalla board would be willing to listen to offers.

Villa, who is valued at around £25 million, has previously insisted that he does not have a desire to leave Valencia. However, he has now suggested he could ponder his options after Euro 2008 if the club wanted to sell.

"It's not an issue between the clubs. It's not something I'm thinking about.

"My focus is on this tournament (Euro 2008) and making sure Spain does well. This is not the time to be thinking about my personal future."

Meanwhile, Villa has admitted that he is thriving on the pressure of providing goals for Spain, and he has warned the rest of Europe that he can only improve.

"There is always pressure," added Villa. "It comes with football."

"Besides pressure is something I thrive on. It keeps me on my toes. I don't need motivation to play well. I'm motivated enough."

"I want to improve and become a better player."

  1. Him, silva and Joaquin will all leave. Valencia finished in the bottom half, and have financial concerns. They went all out for Champions league glory, and would have achieved it if they had kept Benitez. However like Leeds they failed. Now they are in trouble. It is unfortunate that one of the great teams is in this kind of rot. Villa has stated his love for just about every club under the sun, and where he goes is anyones guess.

    1. Valenica finished in da top half ............nd Villa said he wants to stay and snubbed any chance of him leaving......... Valencia only finished ninth because they had a cluelous manager dat is why cause if u noticed Valencia jus had da same team dat Finished 4th da season before apart from a few more players they added .......they arnt in rot like leeds they jus had a bad season like Manchester united did in 69-70 season united finshed 8th because they had a bad manager ....so dont run down a team so bad cause they had bad season

  2. He has proved in this tournament that he is one of the best in the world up front and any team in their right mind should make a bid for him because he will make a huge impact this season. I just hope he lands in Madrid.

  3. Wishful thinking Dakota, although I'm right there with you on that. In reality, I think if given the opportunity, more than half of Valencia's players would make a mad dash for other clubs if they could.

After the absolute and complete fiasco they went through this year, the coaching problems, the man management problems, the favoritism, the egos and the cliques, I think none of them want to be a part of it unless a new manager can come in and tidy things up. And the prospect of that happening is so small, given the board problems already in place: who wants to manage a club whose infrastructure is in crisis?

Prediction: Villa, Silva, maybe Joaquin, maybe even Raul Albiol will leave this summer, and Valencia will be left to rebuild their team around players like Morientes and Zigic... oh Zigic. I almost feel bad for them.

    1. they got a new manger Unai Emery they board is slowly getting rebuilt Villa is about to sign a new Long term contract Joaquin said he wants to see out the rest of his 4 years left on his contract on the official Valenica cf Website so really by looks of things valencia isnt in decline but on the up especially with them buying promising young players like pablo hernandez ...............but who knows what could happen

  4. P.S. that new manager by the way being Unai Emery, who I doubt has the clout to mop up that place, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong. They have to keep their players first.
