After learning of Leach's suspension only five days before the Valero Alamo Bowl, Tech fans were dealt yet another devastating blow as the Administration handed down the word of Coach Leach's demise Wednesday morning.

Unfolding like something from an episode of Law and Order, out of Judge Bill Sowder’s 99th District Court came the news from Ted Liggett, Leach's attorney, that Captain Mike would no longer man the healm of the U.S.S Red Raider. An immediate outpouring of fellow Pirates and Leach supporters flooded blogs, radio, and news outlets all day Wednesday, and it was evident that Raider Nation was instating a full-on ranted and raved in pure outrage about the decision to fire Leach after the claim of breach of article 4 in his contract. Peculiar allegations from Wide Receiver and alleged primadonna, Adam James, and his ESPN Analyst father, fueled the termination, but are not likely the full story.  It has been rumored that the Administration purposefully added a clause into Leach’s contract that made it “cheap” to fire him.

As the winningest coach in school history with a stellar graduation rate, it was shocking and confusing news to all which was evidenced by the immediate backlash towards the powers that be at Texas Tech.  While fans are threatening massive boycotts, the need to stick behind our “crew” is great, and as a fellow Pirate and Leach fan, I urge Raider Nation to continue to support Texas Tech. What's done is done, and our Captain has been forced to walk the all we can do is plunder the Administration where it ole coin pouch.  So, let your thoughts be known, your words be brash, and your bounty withheld from those deserting dimwits!!!! Long live Captain Leach! Wreck 'em!
