Springfield Falcons: 2008-09 Games to Stay on WHYN AM 560

Mike DiMauro@miked31784Senior Writer IJune 22, 2008

For the second year in a row, the Springfield Falcons games will be heard on WHYN AM 560.

Back in 2007, the station got the rights to all 80 of the AHL franchise's games.

Over the years, the Springfield Falcons have been broadcast on WNNZ AM 640 and WMAS AM 1450.

The Springfield Falcons are also in the second season of their affiliation with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers. They have been previously affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Phoenix Coyotes, and the former Hartford Whalers.

The Springfield Falcons also hope to make the playoffs in 2008-2009 seasons with their new head coach Jeff Truitt.

They have not made the Calder Cup playoffs since the 2002-2003 season, when they lost to the Hamilton Bulldogs in Conference Quarterfinals.
