New York Rangers: NHL Seeks Disciplinary Actions Against Owner James Dolan

Matt BeierholmCorrespondent IJune 22, 2008

The New York Post reports that the NHL plans to remove Jim Dolan of his ownership duties.

Dolan owns the New York Rangers and Madison Square Garden. He reportedly accused league officials of violating antitrust laws in a federal lawsuit. The league filed papers in a Manhattan court room that included a letter from Bettman proposing disciplinary action against the Blueshirts.

Bettman suggested either a suspension of the team or Dolan's resignation. Madison Square Garden responded by accusing the league of using "bullying tactics."
