Jeff Clement Hits First Home Run of Season

Today, Jeff Clement of the Seattle Mariners, hit his first home run of the season and it was a shot.  This is not the first dinger of his career as he hit a couple at the end of the season last year when he was a September call-up.  This is the second time he has been called up this year, but he and the whole Mariners organization believe that this will be the last time that they may need to do such a thing.

He isn't hitting too great for the season right now, but it is all just a time that he will get adjusted and move his career to the next step and become their full-time catcher.  During his stint in AAA for the year he hit over .330 and had 14  home runs, but he did not stop there.  After being called up to the majors the first time this season, he hit below .200, but I am sure that he will raise that average fast.  He is now hitting .161 and is taking place of the catching position while Johjima is toning his skills to play first base.

Welcome to the bigs Jeff and I hope for a great season and an even better career as you grow into the great player you are supposed to be.
